The picture on the left I drew back in 1994. Originally a line art drawing. This year, December 2002 I decided to color it in.

The original line picture was sent off to a anime distributor who had their own fanzine but they decided not to print it because they thought the guns showed the girls as too violent and aggressive for their readers..

The scene is Tokyo 2031. Seven years after the second Great Kanto earthquake, Tokyo has become the world's most overcrowded city. The city is recovering from the ruins and there are cyberdroids that are running loose!

This is a story of the Knight Sabers. The Knight Sabers are a team of four women - Celia Stingray, Priss Asagiri, Linna Yamazaki and Nene Romanova, each with their own personalities and values. The story's focus is about Celia and her father's (Dr. Stingray) and his creation: Boomer technology, and technology's fight with mankind.

Boomer technology was envisaged as beneficial for mankind however, Mason a Genom executive has other plans!

Genom: a company that dominates political and financial affairs is a giant conglomerate that towers over everything. Genom are the main problem for the Knight Sabers who saddle up in their hardsuits and get ready to battle into the night sometimes along with the AD Police.

Bubblegum crisis was originally intended to be made into 13 episodes but only 8 were produced because of some internal conflicts between the creators. The character designs are done by Sonada Kenichi (who also created Riding Bean and Gunsmith Cats). The 8 episode anime's were released in Japan by Toshiba EMI in 1987 and released later in the Western world by Animeigo/Anime projects.
