This isn't fair. Why are children being treated this way? Just because I'm twelve doesn't mean that I should be looked down upon. I see kids like Betty Parris act wildly. It's should be fine because she's only ten! Just because she plays a lot and acts crazy doesn't mean that she is practicing witchcraft. When adults talk to us, we have to look down and we can't look in their eyes. Why is that? I think that if we look them straight in the eyes, it proves that we're listening. But then again, when we don't look at them, they don't know what we're cursing at them. There isn't anything to do. Are we supposed to just sit down and not do anything twenty-four hours a day? God is scary, and if I do die, I don't want to go to hell. I didn't do anything really bad. So am I supposed to be extremely good for the rest of my life just so I have a little chance to go to heaven? Everything around here is tasteless. Even the furniture and the walls of my house are white. Tituba gets persecuted because of her background. I think she's kind of strange though with her folk tales and strange traditions. My dad says she's going to hell. I need something to do.
