Laws of the State
The President
The President is popularily elected for a term of one full year. Anyone can run for President although the number of candidates is limited to ten. The President has veto power over the Legislature but cannot veto articles passed by the Parliament. The President maintains command over all Nautilan Armed Forces but can be overruled by the Parliament. Beyond this the President is merely a figurehead for the nation, a position of representation to the rest of the world.
Parliament
Parliament is comprised of all Governor's currently acting in Nautila. Currently there are six states, which means that there are six seats in Parliament. The job of the Parliament is to keep the country working together, promote desegregation and discuss new ideas which will better the NFS as a whole (i.e. new articles, laws, bills, etc.). Governor's are popularily elected by the Legislature for a term of four months. The Parliament retains the position as the main leading centre of the NFS.
Legislature The Legislature is an open body and comprises every citizen of the NFS not currently holding any other government administrative position (i.e. Governors, Judges, the President, etc. cannot vote in the Legislature). The Legislative body has the ability to develop and pass new laws and articles just as the Parliament would. They are, however, subject to a veto from the Parliament if it is so deemed.

High Laws of Nautila
The High Laws of Nautila must be abided to by all citizens. We have ten laws, these laws cannot be changed and must be obeyed or they will be punishable by order of the Court.
1.) No Nautilan can ever harm another Nautilan.
This includes personal insult (public) or physical harm, including spam or computer viruses. People here are refined enough to know when and how to state their opinion without hurting others.
2.) No Nautilan may be subjected to punishment without a fair trial.
3.) No Nautilan may be barred from emmigration.
4.) No Nautilan can instigate a war or other type of conflict with any other nation at any time.
5.) War cannot be declared unless both the Parliament, President and half the Legislative body agree to do so.
6.) Persons wanting to join the NFS will be subjected to routine checks by the Ministry of Defense to insure that they have enough credentials to join. This is purely for security purposes.
7.) No state or territory of the NFS may ever secede. Secession is illegal in any and all forms.
8.) Freedom of speech may never be restricted.
9.) Freedom of the press may never be restricted.
10.) Prejudice and racial tendencies are illegal and will be punished according to the terms set by the Court.

Economy
Our economy is based on the Mu, or �. As of now, there is no functional exchange rate possible between the �, the dollar, the Euro, or any other macronational currency. We will be electing a person in charge of economy to eventually take care of details like these. Pictures of the � note are available here.

Judicial Branch
The Nautilan Courts take up a larger influence in the nation's affairs than what is covered in the Constitution. Therefore this small excerpt has been added. The "Supreme Court" of the NFS is known as the High Court of Templemir. Located in the capital city (Templemir), the Court functions under the authority of the federal government and is led by the High Judge. A position which is popularily elected by the people. The High Judge has the power to appoint up to three additional Judges. Lawyers are choosen independently by the prosecutors and defendants. The Court itself functions directly on our forums rather than on the website.

Foreign Affairs
The Foreign Ministry may be viewed here. The Foreign Ministry is run by the Chancellor and he/she has the authority to appoint Ambassadors to nations that the NFS comes into contact with. Opening initial relations does not have to be voted upon. However, the revocation of treaties, declerations of war and various other treaties, must be voted upon.

Military
The military plays an important role in the affairs of the state. While we are a democratic micronation, we take pride in maintaining a potent force capable of our defense. The military also plays other roles, such as peacekeeping and education in discipline. As in our basic code, the military upholds every Nautilans right to keep and bear arms. Constitutional Ammendments
The Constitution may only be changed if their is 75% or more in favour of the change in both the Legislature and the Parliament. The President does not have to approve the changes if the other parties favour them.

Dual Citizenship
As of now, the NFS government holds no restrictions against any citizen holding dual-citizenships. This means that any Nautilan may also partake in the activities of another micronation, providing that they do not contradict eachother. Such cases would be if the NFS were at war with the other micronation or the other micronation was known for spying against the NFS. Such contadictions automatically overrule this policy, although the need to do so is very rare.
