** ANNOUNCEMENT **
Since October 20, 2003 Electronic Arts Inc., creators of Need For Speed Porsche Unleashed / 2000, decided to shutdown the 'official' servers where it was able to play this game online in MULTIPLAYER \ 'internet games' mode, including all the information related to NFS:PU like statistics, track records, downloadable cars, etc.

In spite of the hard efforts and
lots of requests from all the members of NFS:PU Community, Electronic Arts Inc. and Porsche AG. didn't heard us.

Obviously I don't agree with them and I let them know my personal opinion, although I would like to express my gratefulness to both companies for the greatest PC game I had ever knew.

That's the reason why I decided to remove them from my pages or redirect all links related to Electronic Arts Inc. and Porsche AG. to this page.

Even though our marvelous Community is strong enough and, of course, we'll survive !
We will show what kind of wood we are made of. We are decided to go on racing our favorite game online.
We all know NFS:PU is more than a mere PC game for us. It has allowed us to meet and become friends with people all over the world and we are not resigned to lose them.

Our chance from now is: MULTIPLAYER \ 'peer to peer - IP' mode
IP GAMES

In this mode, eight PC's can connect via the Peer to Peer - IP connection.

To begin an IP race:
1. From the Main menu, select MULTIPLAYER. The Multiplayer menu appears.
2. Select PEER TO PEER - IP. The IP menu appears.

To host a race:
1. Click CREATE. The Game Settings menu appears.
2. Select settings and wait for other racers to join.
3. When the desired number of players have joined and you are ready to begin, click RACE.

To join a race:
1. Click the box next to IP ADDRESS, then enter the IP address of the machine hosting the race, then press ENTER.
2. Click CONNECT. The Settings menu appears.
3. Select your vehicle settings, then click READY to let the host know that you are prepared for the game start.

NOTE: If you are hosting a race, your IP address will appear in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. You will want to give this number to the people that you want to join the game.
How to know IP addresses of created pits or how to let others to know your IP address if you decided to host?
Team [RS] IP Lounge: Following the demise of Electronic Arts Online Servers and the need for continued racing in IP mode has lead to the birth of this software. Its aim is to provide a closed chat room (lobby) in wich Porsche Unleashed (PU) racers can meet prior to entering races, as well as providing a vehicle for posting races. The program itself has been designed to run under Microsoft Windows and has been tested with XP Home, ME & 98se.
