Downtown Petaluma is the home to the following seasonal festivals and parades:

Petaluma's downtown is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is a pedestrian-friendly
environment with streets lined with antique stores,coffee shops, quaint restaurants, and many
other great destinations.These buildings have cast iron facades, which were thought to be extremely
strong and fireproof. Unfortunately, this notion was proven false by the 1906 earthquake and fire
which destroyed virtually all of San Francisco's ironfronts.

Petaluma's ironfronts were manufactured at San Francisco foundries, then shipped up the Petaluma
River to be assembled at the site and bolted to a brick wall.
