The Barrens Boulders
These are known as 3  large boulders that are located on the western outskirts of Butter Pot park on the TCH. They are not located together but along a hike with the most impressive at the end of the line. First of all I have to make clear it is very easy to become disoriented in this area as it is barren and it all looks alike. I am not held responsible for anybody who takes it upon themselves to go on the highway and wander around possibly ending up lost. It is best to contact myself if you want to venture into this area as I can take you for a session or put you on to somebody else who knows their way around.
Head west on the TCH, about 5 minutes past ButterPot Park and 0.5 km before the "Witless Bay Line 1 km" sign  park on the side of the highway next to a small brown provincial park sign. There is a hunting trail, behind this sign, that you can take to go as far as the river, please stay on this trail. The first boulder can be seen from the road as you are driving, it is in a large stand of junipers, this is the "Prostitue Boulder". If you continue along the trail you will come to a river, cross the river and head left, you will then come to another boulder that has a sloppy lip and is about chest high, this is the "Lip Boulder". The "Barrens Boulder" itself is in a Northerly direction over the hill from this boulder. When you see this one you will know as it is about 13 feet high on the face.
Keep an eye out for new pics of these boulders.
