November 2003 - Amethyst

Healing Properties:
By placing amethyst under your pillow when trying to sleep, it helps ward off insomnia and promote clear thinking. Wearing amethyst will help alleviate migraines and promote concentration. A geode of amethyst will help clear the area of nervous energy, reducing tension headaches.
Magical Properties:
Amethyst is said to invoke justice. It protects against violence and burglary as well as warding off violent death and danger.
Colour: Violet - opaque

Crystallization:
Amethyst forms from quartz, appearing as large hexagonal crystals.
