Live From Daytona Beach, Florida
Knight's Ultimatum
[ The scene switches from ringside and JP and Sully to a shot of the lucratively decorated office of Marcus Anderson. The youthful tycoon sits at his desk with a serious air about him. He leans forward and cracks a bit of a smile.
Marcus Anderson: Change is such a wonderful thing, dont you think? In my very night on the job, Ive managed to pull a full 180 with the NLR, steering it clear from the cliff Scotty Heart had it headed for. With the genial Ed Johnson by my side weve crowned champions to all of our now prestigious championships, seen the chopping of dead weight and the addition of wonderful new, talented superstars, like our friend Naz!
You know, it wasnt easy to bring this guy in! Hes been a very hot commodity in the past and there have been some big names after him. We had names like RWF and WEW after him, but my cunning managed to reel him in! Unlike Scotty Heart, I know how to handle the wrestling business, I know what to give the fans, I know how to deal with talent and I know how to manage my money!
This is after all a business and in the grand scheme of things, Id love to say I do this for the fans, but I didnt become a millionaire at the age of 35 by going out of my way to please people. I know good business, meaning people will like what I give them! Part of knowing good business is knowing when to cut your losses! I dont mind taking risks, but I also know when to hold them and when to fold them. Naz brought forth a good point, a point that has until not gone unnoticed by me and Johnson, a point that I need to address, and rectify, immediately.
Troy Knight! The legendary TroyBoy, waisting my money! Why Scotty Heart has kept you on staff as a mentor for as long as he did is beyond me! You havent stepped foot in the ring in months, despite it being written in plain black and white that you are allocated a months injury time, before you have to compete in an NLR ring! What this means is that you are in breech of your contract and I can fire your flamboyant derriere at any time! But like I said, Im a business man, so I will propose to you a shall we say ultimatum!
Troy Knight, you have until this Fridays edition of Hysteria to choose one of two options. Your first option is to relinquish your duties as mentor, what ever they may be, and become a fully active member of the roster. That is of course if you can pass the physical. In which case I expect you to be ready, willing and able to compete whenever and wherever I say! Option number to, you quit! You quit before I get the chance to fire you for breech of contract! Youve got until Friday night to make your decision.
Now if youll excuse me, there is actual work that needs to be done around here!
[ Marcus flashes a patronizing smirk to the camera before lowering his eyes into a stack of papers in front of him, the camera backs out of Marcus Andersons office and we go back to Sully and JP at ringside. ]
Sully: Did you hear that? Marcus Anderson just issued an ultimatum to Troy Knight!
JP: Hes certainly not afraid to throw his weight around. Hes just threatened to fire one of the biggest names in wrestling!
Sully: Serves Troy right! Cashing in pay checks for doing absolutely nothing! Its about damn time someone caught on to this money laundering scheme by Troy!
JP: Please! Troy Knight is a well of wrestling knowledge, Scotty Heart kept him on the roster, despite being injured, so that he could share his wealth of knowledge with the younger guys.
Sully: An elaborate cover up, caught at long last!
JP: Thats ridiculous, I dont even think Troy is in good enough physical condition to pass his physical, never mind lace up the boots!
Sully: Well find out on Friday night! But right now weve got to go to our last commercial before we witness the main event of the evening.
JP: Anarkist versus Jason Storm and its next!
