Kickin' Things Off

[ The scene opens up showing downtown Seattle. It's now June 13th, so of course, it's grey and raining. The Pike Place Market, SAFECO Feild, and the Space Needle are all shown. Then the screen fades to total black and white. Green lettering stamps out the words "Threshold: Last week" across the screen, as some realy orchastrated music plays in the background. The clips show the highlights of the "Excess Encounter", which showed Alex Roma pull out the victory. The pace quickens as the clips go to Miller Vs. Fear, in which BOTH contestants went the extra mile, but in the end, would see Fear come out on top. Louder and faster the music goes, as Kyle Bauer shows his stuff in a battle of wills with "The Enervator", seeing him end up with NLR Gold. Again, the epic music heightens with Gutter Rat and Leandro brutalising each other in tune with the clashing cymballs, the clips ending with Leandro setting atop the cell, all bloody and beaten, but holding the title. The music heads for the drum ending with Anarkist/Storm as the drums beat down in thunderous unison, ending with clips of Johnson, JP and Sully, Anderson, the newcomers Naz and Grudge, and finaly the MWF logo being stamped over by the shiny green NLR Logo. On cue, the camera switches to the dark arena, where green, white, and gray strobe lights start flashing from the entrance area, shooting all over the crowd in attendance. You can see many of the fans in the brief spurts of colors light. The crowd begins to cheer as all the lights come on. As the camera begins the pan around the arena switching angles, and ajusting the focus, the announcers begin to speak. ]

JP: Welcome to Seattle, Washington, to the first HYSTERIA of the NLR under the Johnson/Anderson era! We have what looks like will be a great card for you here tonight! I'm play-by-play announcer John Pilkington, along with my co-announcer..

Sully: That's me! Tim Sullivan here, and boy do we have a good opening show for the crowd here in the land of Starbucks and Microsoft. This show sold out quickly, likely at the chance to see the legendary Grudge with us tonight. Grudge is back after an absence from the wrestling world that lasted quite a while, and he is set to face rising star, Fear, in a number one contendership for The Legacy Championship!!

JP: Yes and that isn't all, our opening match will be a tag-team match between Newcomer Hellhole and a returning Gunman Stinger facing ViperJ and 4-Towers Champion, Kyle Bauer. I'd be worried if I were facing Bauer, I had a chance to talk with him the other night, and he went on to tell me that his "Un-"Offical NLR record stood at an impressive, 98-0, though we can't be sure just how true that is.

Sully: And what about our main event JP. Just one week after the toughest fight in his career, the Beast, Leandro will be facing Mike Miller in a non-title match! These two have seemed to have had some sort of beef in the past couple of weeks, and tonights main event will see some old scores settled. Miller is a very promising young talent in the wrestling world, and El Mexicano Condena is already pretty well established as a complete fricken' maniac.

JP: NLRs' other big pickup that you will see tonight is Naz, as he fights for the first time within the 4-Towers in a triple threat Show or Get Out match with Mobius and Overkill. I'm anxious to see what Naz can actually do!

Sully: Same here, I'm anxious to see what everyone can do! I bet I could to more! Anyway, I think it's time to get into our first match, as the team of...

[ "The Hand that feeds" by Nine Inch Nails suddenly hits the PA system. The General Manager "Big" Ed Johnson comes from backstage followed by CEO Anderson. The crowd goes nuts for the men who are bringing this great show to them tonight. The duo make their way down to the ring and the GM is handed a microphone.]

JP: Well apparently the General Manager wants to formally open the federation before we get into tonight's action. Let's see what he has to say!

"Big" Ed Johnson: Hello everyone and welcome to Key Arena on this fine evening. I'm glad you could all make it for the unveiling of Ed Johnsons Next Level Revolution, the "most compelling" federation around. Forget your WWWs' or your GWAs', or even your WEWs', as right now, you're tuned in, which means that all of you, the NLR fans, have made a choice, and already picked your side in the Revolution, and for that, we thank you. Mr. Anderson here, to my left, and I alone with a strong core of dedicated first members have been working tirelessly to get this off the ground, and finally tonight, we will see all our hard work start to pay off. Now let's get this show on the road...

[ Johnson tosses the microphone to the Ring Announcer as "The hand that feeds" cranks back up the PA where it left off before. The crowd gives a pop to the NLR Staff as they leave the ring and head to the backstage area.]

JP: Well that was a nice visit from the General Manager and the CEO. I'm glad to see they're as excited about this as all the rest of us are!

Sully: Pffft... I could do their job better than they can.

JP: For those of you watching at home, please excuse the obnoxious, meaningless noise coming from the headset next to me, it doesn't mean anything. Our first match is about to start!
