The Cult

this is the first episode I saw being taped. I had such a great time. Below is a summary not as detailed as my Who Am I summary but good enough. In a few days this won't be a spoiler anymore but still feel free to read. At the end of the recap I will put any behind the scenes stuff I can remember.

The Episode is titled "The Cult." The show begins with Cousin Gerard coming back and he is involved in some cult type thing called "Inner Path." He wants Robert to come to the Inner path meetings with him. He convinces Robert who hasn't been having a good time lately because of the whole Debra/Marie thing. When he tells his family about Inner Path they all are worried that he is in a cult and convince Ray to go to a meeting with him. Everyones so worried about Robert that Marie and Debra manage to be in the same room together for a few minutes without thinking about the fight. After that wears off they go back to the dirty looks and Marie leaves the room. Ray and Robert go to the meeting and turns out the whole reason Gerard got Robert to come to the meetings was to get Ray there because he's in the public eye and could bring good light to there cause. After the meeting Robert admits he doesn't know what he's doing to Ray. Robert says he's been having a hard time lately with the whole fighting thing. Ray says that they were so worried about Robert that Marie and Debra managed to be in the same room for a few minutes without fighting. Ray then says that maybe they can work something out and fix this whole mess. They go on to pull a giant trick on Marie and Debra about how bad the cult is and that Ray has set up an intervention with Judy Roberts partner. During the course of the intervention after Frank yells at Robert Robert gets mad and is about to leave when Marie and Debra stop him. He says why should he listen to anything they say when they cant even get along. Marie then says "We can." and Debra looks at her and they both start to cry and hug. Once they are made up The boys and Judy let them know it was all a trick and that desperate times call for desperate measures. They say there not mad at them and tell them there just happy to have each other back in their lives. When recapping it, it sounds kind of lame but in actuality it was done rather nicely. The last scene where they are having the intervention is brilliant. Its really funny and sweet and serious all at the same time. The audience warm up guy told us the longest one scene usually is on a sit-com is about 5-10 pages and the last scene with the intervention was 17 pages! The actors pulled it off just right too.

Bloopers ect...

In one part Brad and Ray have to struggle with each other and he accidently knocked Ray down and Ray took that leather chair in their living room down with him. It was pretty funny. Another time Frank has to hit Robert in the head. They had to do this scene alot and so Brad was saying some pretty funny things about having to be hit in the head over and over again.

Doris, Patty, and Ray all came and talked to the audience at various times. They all seem very nice. It was cool to see the little mess ups and stuff like that. The funniest one was in one part Robert gets upset after Frank yells at him and goes to leave and Ray is supposed to say "Dont listen to him he pee's in the yard" But accidently said "Dont listen to him he pee's in the toilet!" It Was sooo funny!

Patty messed up a few times once she was supposed to bang her head against the fridge in frustration but one time she did it to hard and lifted her head up and was like "oww that hurt can we do that again." in another part patty kept messing up because she was supposed to say "offer" but kept saying "suggestion" instead. I think those were her only ones. Once Doris almost said the "F" word instead of what she was supposed to say that was pretty funny.
