Warning Signal
Tornado Drill - One long continuous ring from the bell.
Teachers will take grade book or class roll sheet with them when evacuating
the building. All grades go out the north door in an orderly fashion
and go directly to the storm shelter.
Order of Evacuation for TORNADO
1. Grade K-1 classroom - follow single file behind grades
2-3.
2. Grade 2-3 classroom - file out single file through
the right hand side of the north door into the shelter to the far end.
3. Grade 6-7 classroom - follow single file behind grades
K-1.
4. Grade 4-5 classroom - follow single file behind grades
6-7.
5. Special Education Room - follow single file behind
grades 6-7.
6. Library/Computer Lab - Take the shortest path to the
north doors and follow single file to the shelter.
7. Music & Art - take the shortest path to north doors
and follow single file to the shelter.
8. Gym - make your way through the building and follow
single file into the shelter.
Back-up Plan for TORNADO evacuation procedures - (to be used only in the event that you cannot make it to the storm shelter.)
Grade K-1 classroom - proceed directly to the east-west hall
outside the office and restroom (north side of the hall.)
Grade 2-3 classroom - proceed directly to the east-west hall
along by the water fountain (south side of the hall.)
Grade 4-5 & 6-7 classroom - proceed directly to the east-west
hall and line yourselves along the south and/or north walls.
Special Education - Title I - Library - Music - Art -
Proceed directly to the east-west hall and line yourselves along the
south and/or north walls.
General Information
2. Students should sit with their backs braced against the wall, their head down between their knees, and their arms locked tightly over their head.
