A Critical Look at Reality TV on the Stage The Cast of the "Jocelyn" Reading
This is the complete cast of "Jocelyn," when we had a fully staged reading with my theatre group, the WorkShop Theater Company, in New York, directed by Lisa Deo, June 2001.
Standing, from left to right: Marianne Matthews, who played both Dr. Bernice Lyons (the on-air psychologist) and a member of the internet message board ensemble; Cheryl Monroe, Walter Hyman, and Richard Nahem, the other three members of that internet ensemble; Susan Barnes Walker as "Hothouse" anchorwoman Gina Copeland; David Kramer as nefarious executive producer Burt Farnsworth; Stephen Girasuolo as Brian, the Hothouse resident with whom Jocelyn has some romantic moments; Ellen Saland as Marcy, the Hothouse resident with whom Jocelyn develops an ill-fated friendship; and Kimmarie Bowens as Renee, who is part of the "kitchen caucus" with Jocelyn and Marcy. In front: seated is Albert Michael Goudy, who played Hothouse resident Norm; sitting on his lap is Andrea Clark Libin, who played Jocelyn, the one the whole fuss is about; and the guy in the bright red shirt, well, that's me.
