Every family has values
Every culture has traditions
Every society has a point of view
Morality is defined by the society
The 'melting pot' of America
Has some very big lumps
Traditional Values is a really good sociological novel of Philadelphia from the 60's to now. Wop meets top. A disadvantaged Italian-American guy penetrates old mainline Philadelphia and wins out, making a fortune in real estate, but loses the girl, and makes an unhappy marriage for himself. Rowing on the river, fancy private clubs, gangsters, sex... It's about time for another Philadelphia novel to follow Kitty Foyle and "High Society."
