A Fine Romance
                              excerpt from the novella

                                by Robert Kail

She was young; he was young.  They fell in love, they married.  Life
was heaven for a while.  Then reality slogged in on leaden feet.  Nothing
lasts forever.
He had met her in New York.  She was ‘society’, but poor relations.
And tired of being poor.  He was rich but innocent, shrewd in business, yet
naive in love. The son of the Wolf of Wall Street and heir to a chain of hotels,
he loved being the boss at twenty-six.  He loved his work, and he loved her.
But she was a dream.  His dream.  A dream of a home that he never
knew, of a wife loyal and compliant, yet strong in her own right.  His work demanded that he travel, with his bride, to establish himself as the new head
of the Dekoster Hotels Corporation.  No longer in his father’s shadow, behind
his mother’s skirts, he had to show himself to be the dynamic young executive who could set their faltering corporation on the path to success.
