Psycho Babble

My day began @ 5:30a.

After taxi-ing the boy to work, I figured I had to be on the road two hours later anyway and decided not to go back to sleep.

I did the laundry. Took a shower. Packed my backpack for the first day of the 1998 Fall semester, once again as a part-time student(barely!). I hate that label. It makes me feel so...incomplete.

Theater, my one and only class, began at 930a. I met Kat in the front of Kennedy theater and walked in with the masses. I hadn't been in there since high school, when Rex did that play....what was the name of it?

Theater is pretty big. You could easily stage your own production of RENT or RAGTIME with room to spare. We signed into our sections and had the classic run-down of the syllabus. Nothing really new or exiting. The professor seemed rather enthuzed but I hated the bit of bad news she shared at the end of the class.

Because of budget cuts she had to get rid of a section that people were already enrolled in. AHHHHH!!!!

(.....continued on next column)

She stated that if she had twenty voulunteers to drop the class she would guarantee their enrollment for Spring. She felt it was better than pulling a section out of a hat to terminate. FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! I didn't see anyone sign-up at the end of class. I just fucking know its my section she's going to cancel!! FUCK!! What the hell do I do if and when this happens?!

Kat and I left rather concerned, bitching and saying "they can't do this to us can they?" We parted ways, me to the campus center and she to the 500 mile long finacial aid line.

I roamed around campus for about three hours validating my ID, buying books, getting snackies, and hating the the UHM students around me. I felt like an old lady. I am an old lady! I'm supposed to be graduating already. Life blows the big weiner. I've got AT LEAST three years to go!

My feet stink. Sniff....ow.

At 1:30 I started my job at the SCHOOL NEWSPAPER. My first day as a copy editor. Oh joy. I wasn't really sure if I was doing things right. Hell its my first day. Damn what an easy job! Or so I think at the moment. The cheif copy editor CHRISTY speeds through the articles so quickly!! I want to grow up to be just like her!!

I came home hungry and missing the boy.

<< rewind.....fast|forward>>
