5/22/2003 - Wow! It's a little under three weeks until my Lap Band surgery.  I am so excited!!! Everything is set for the surgery. I go on 6/6 for my pre-op appointment with Dr. Watson and go over to St. Paul's for some tests. I will find out the exact time of surgery then. I am hoping for an early mornign surgery so I can go ahead and get it over with. I am a little worried that they will not have a hospital gown large enough for me. I think I am going to e-mail Lois at Dr. Watson's office tomorrow to confirm that this will nto be an issue.
6/3/2003 - Sorry for not updating more regularly. Life has been crazy the last couple of weeks.  Friday is my pre-op appointment with Dr. Watson. I will meet with him at 11:00 to go over any last minute questions that I may have. I have been fortunate to find a couple of former Dr. Watson patients online and they have been extremely helpful. (Thanks Cindy and Tracy!!)  I know have a better idea of what to expect when I get to the hospital and what I need to bring with me.

People have been asking me if I am nervous about the surgery. My answer is yes and no. I am not worried about the actual surgery itself. I have faith that Dr. Watson will do a wonderful job. However, I am little things such as being wheeled into surgery, being naked under my gown for the surgery, waking up after surgery and being disoriented. I think things will be much better once I speak again to Dr. Watson.
6/9/2003 - Tomorrow is the big day. My surgery is scheduled for 9 AM so I have to be at the hospital  at 7 AM. My pre-op went really well on Friday. Dr. Watson answered all of my questions thoroughly and explained the surgery to my mother in detail. I feel more confident knowing what I can expect to happen tomorrow. After meeting with Dr. Watson, I went over to St. Paul to get all of  my administration paperwork filled out. I completely forgot that I was going to be giving a urine sample at the hospital and used the restroom about 3 minutes before they called me back for my meeting with the nurse. Ooops! I began drinking ice cold water (3 full glasses) and was able to "produce" a sample in record time.
