UGA Xtreme TV: Intense Rage! Featuring the Tag Team Ultimate Quest! Live, From Atlanta Georgia! The Phillips Arena! August 5, 2001 The Show Report VIDEO PACKAGE -The show began with a video package off last week's events, including the Chainsaw Charlie-Adam Mitchell main event match. During the package, a lot of questions were highlighted and we were told that tonight, we will find out the answers to many of those questions. Where is the World Title belt? Why did Street Punk cane Chainsaw Charlie? Who is Jago Ripley's mystery man? In the video package, these questions and others may be answered tonight. With that, the package faded out and cut to the Phillips Arena in Georgia. Over 22,000 fans were on their feet yelling and cheering as UGA Xtreme TV: Intense Rage kicked off! Pyro blasted in the ring and down the aisleway as Derek Stallion and Jesse Rhodes introduced the show from ringside. The cameras immediately panned to the aisleway as "One Step Closer" by Linkin Park blasted. The crowd went nuts as Chainsaw Charlie made his way out to a huge ovation. Charlie walked to the ring as the announcers said the show is going to start off in a big way and that Charlie still doesn't have that UGA Championship belt with him! Charlie entered the ring and took the mic as the music faded. CHAINSAW CHARLIE INTERVIEW -The crowd chanted Charlie's name as hee held the mic in the ring looking none too happy. Charlie began to speak, saying he's out there tonight for a number of reasons. "First and foremost, Adam Mitchell, remember this one thing. You may have a dq victory over me, but that's the only way you'd ever beat me! You and I will meet again!" The crowd supported Charlie as he talked about Mitchell but then Charlie said it was time to talk about more important things, such as Street Punk, the Four Way Dance at "Bring It On" and the UGA Title belt. Charlie went on saying that ever since Summer Breakout in May when he won the UGA Championship, everyone has been trying to screw him over one way or another and everyone has been gunning for him. "At that same event," Charlie added, "Street Punk, you became a fan favorite for the first time in your career." Charlie then paused and began talking about trusting Punk and teaming up with Punk but then added, "Should I have trusted your ass? I don't think so!" The crow d popped as Charlie paced back and forth in the ring. "You nailed me with your singapore cane and didn't even try to acknowledge that it was an accident. But you know what, that's all fine with me because that tells me that the new Punk is no different than the old Punk. So let me tell you something Punk, if you went out of your way to cane me during last week's main event, then you probably went out of your way to steal the UGA Championship!" With that comment, "Kerosene" by Bad Religion began to blast as Street Punk made his way out to a mixed reaction from the crowd. Charlie stood in the ring and stopped and looked toward the aisleway as Punk made his way to the ring with a microphone. Punk entered the ring and Charlie stared him cold as the crowd got behind both men. "Let me tell you Charlie, even though I didn't come out and acknowledge me caning you was an accident, that's exactly what it was!," Punk began. Charlie looked suspicious and acted like he wasn't buying that from Punk but Punk continued telling Charlie that even though it was an accident, why should he be apologetic for it when they both want the same thing, the UGA Championship. "And speaking of the UGA Championship Charlie, you think I took it? I didn't take it, I don't have it! I have no idea where it is! You wanna accuse someone of taking the UGA Championship, look no further than Frat Boy Perry Tanhammer! Let's roll some footage!" With that, we began to see footage last week of Frat Boy coming into the locker room of Chainsaw Charlie before his title defense against Mitchell. At the end of that segment we see Frat Boy smiling and telling Charlie to make sure he hangs on to his title! Moments later, Charlie cannot find his title in the segment as it fades out and we cut back live to the ring. Punk goes on, telling Charlie, "Look at the footage we've just seen. Shouldn't that tell you something? He's the man that's got your UGA Championship! He's sitting back, keeping quiet and causing all this speculation but right there, that's your answer to who has your title!" Charlie listens as Punk concludes but Frat Boy walks out on the stage with a mic in hand saying "Whoa whoa whoa. Hold on just a minute now." The crowd boo'ed as Frat Boy walked to the ring. "You think I took your title? You think that I would do such a thing? C'mon Charlie, you going to listen to Street Punk? You both should know me better than that! And you should know HIM better than that Charlie!" Frat Boy entered the ring as Charlie looked towards Punk. "You see Charlie, I know Street Punk better than anyone. And I think you know him pretty damn well too. And you know that he's the type of guy that likes to cause controversy and speculation so of course he's going to say that I took the UGA Title belt." Charlie quickly cut off Frat Boy: "Then if that's the case, he's no different than YOU!" The crowd cheered and Frat Boy quickly responded that "Maybe that is the case Charlie but I didn't take your UGA Championship. And if Street Punk didn't take it either, has anyone thought about the one m an that is the logical choice to take it? The one man who has never won the World Title? The one man who wants to win the championship so hard that he would STEAL the UGA Championship? That's right fellas, I'm talking about LARRY GIONET!" Punk and Charlie looked at each other as, you guessed it, Larry Gionet walked out. Gionet stood at the top of the ramp, the crowd on their feet making noise and boo'ing him, as he pulled a mic out. "Cut the bullshit!," Gionet yelled from the ramp as the crowd boo'ed. "Frat Boy, you think I took the UGA Championship? You think that I'm responsible for the UGA Championship missing? Think again!" With that, Gionet walked to the ring and entered the ring. "You want to start something Perry Tanhammer? You want to start something with me?," Gionet continued as he got up in Perry's face. "I don't have to steal the UGA Championship when I am going to win it at 'Bring It on!' But since you want to accuse me of taking it, we can go right here right now!" The crowd cheered as Frat Boy and Larry Gionet got face to face. Punk and Charlie looked on. All of a sudden, Frat Boy and Gionet smiled and nodded their heads as they turned and attacked Charlie and Punk in the ring! The crowd boo'ed as Derek Stallion from ringside called it a "Damn setup!" Charlie and Punk fought back as the crowd ch eered! Frat Boy and Larry Gionet double irish whipped Charlie and Punk into the ropes but Charlie and Punk both came back taking both men down with lariats! Frat Boy and Larry Gionet quickly rolled out to the outside and Charlie picked up the mic in the ring. Charlie, "Frat Boy, Larry Gionet, you think you worked one over on us? Get your ass in the ring and we can go right now!" With that, Gionet and Frat Boy re-entered the ring to begin the match! A referee made his way out, the bell rang and the match began! IMPROMPTU TAG TEAM GRUDGE MATCH Chainsaw Charlie/Street Punk vs. Frat Boy/Larry Gionet -The announcers were quick to mention tthat these four men will meet again later tonight in the Ultimate Quest regardless of what happens here. All four men began to brawl as the crowd was on their feet and really into the matchup! Both teams battled back and forth. Four minutes in, Larry Gionet brought the ring bell into the ring. Gionet blasted Charlie over the head with the bell as the crowd boo'ed and the referee called for the bell. Frat Boy began to beat on Street Punk with a chair and both Frat Boy and Gionet took it to Charlie and Punk as the crowd boo'ed. The camera zoomed in on Charlie who was busted open from the bell shot and Frat Boy and Larry Gionet stood tall in the ring and held their arms up as the crowd boo'ed. "King Nothing" by Metallica began to blast as THP ran out from the back and the crowd errupted. Gionet and Frat Boy quickly fled the ring as THP came in to check on Punk and Charlie. THP checked on both men but the announcers mentioned that the damage had already been done. G ionet and Frat Boy backed up the aisleway towards the back as the show cut to break. [NO CONTEST in 4:22] -Commercial- EARLIER TODAY The show returned with footage of earlier today, with Edward Sprinkle and Gamblin Gray both signing UGA contracts. During the signing, Sprinkle commented to Gray about how much he likes his work and style but Gray didn't care and pushed Sprinkle in the face down to the floor. Sprinkle got up and charged Gray and the two men began to brawl around before officials broke the two men up. And because of that brawl, there's been a change in tonight's card as those two men will now wrestle tonight and Joe Snow will face Mighty Ryan Kelly! The announcers mentioned that later tonight, in just a few moments, UGA President Jon Massey would be making a huge announcement! The announcers wondered what Massey's announcement would be as the show cut backstage. BACKSTAGE -In the back, we then saw Hia Tao walkiing around looking nervous. He ran into an official and in broken english told him that he doesn't want to wrestle Sean Docaine tonight because that's his buddy. Tao asked the official why the UGA signed the match on the show but the official did not know why. Tao said it wasn't fair as he walked off in search to talk to Docaine. The show then cut back inside of the arena. KEVIN CANDIDO INTERVIEW -As Derek Stallion and Jesse Rhodes reccapped the first fifteen minutes of the show, "Battleflag"--Lo Fidelity All Stars began to play and Kevin Candido made his way out to the ring to a mixed reaction from the crowd. Candido entered the ring and asked for the microphone. He shook his head in disgust as he began to speak. "Max Boulder huh? That's who I get? A first class, grade A talent like myself, a superstar, a star killer like yours truly...and I get Max Boulder? This is nothing more than a slap in the face!" Candido continued about Boulder before the scene cut to the aisle and Boulder made his way out to the ring. Boulder charged the ring and began to brawl with Candido as the bell rang and the match began! MAX BOULDER vs. KEVIN CANDIDO -The two men began to battle back and fforth. A minute in, Candido gained the upper hand and never looked back. Three minutes in, Candido dropped Boulder with the Star Killer to get the clean pinfall victory. (WINNER: KEVIN CANDIDO via Pinfall at 3:14). Afterwards, Candido stood over Boulder and asked for the mic and began to insult his competition and what the UGA was feeding to him. As he insulted Boulder, he continued to stomp and kick at him. This led to Joe Snow coming out from the back. Candido told Snow: "You don't want none of this boy" but Snow charged the ring and the two men began to brawl. Snow then dropped Candido with the Snow Plow and followed it up with the Snowden Senton Bomb from the top rope. The crowd cheered as Snow left the ring and the show cut to a promo package produced earlier in the day. ADAM MITCHELL PROMO -We began to see clips of Adam Mitchelll during the past couple months in the UGA. As the clips played, Mitchell was shown working out and speaking from a studio, talking about being the Super Junior Crown Cup Champion, the uncrowned UGA World Champion and the only undefeated superstar in the UGA. He reminded the fans and the viewers as well as other UGA talent that he is the "best young talent in wrestling" and that tonight, him and Hunter take things to the next level. The package concluded as the show cut backstage. BACKSTAGE -The show cut to the back with Hia Tao continuing his search for Sean Docaine. We then saw Jon Massey live via satellite and we will hear from him shortly. The show then cut to break. -Commercial- [Part 2 is Next] Part Two JOE SNOW BACKSTAGE -The show returned with Joe Snow backsttage in his locker room. Snow taped his fists as he said: "Candido, you talk about no competition and lack of worthy challengers? Well, it looks like you just got your ass showed up out there doesn't it?" Snow laughed and continued challenging Candido: "So why don't you step up to the challenge, and at UGA Bring It On, step into the ring with 'The Snow Dogg' Joe Snow! Do you even have what it takes? I don't think you do!" With that, the scene cut back inside of the arena. The announcers told us that in just a few moments, we would hear from President Jon Massey live via satellite. CHAD YARO vs. IRONMAN JORDAN JONES -Chad Yaro then made his way out to thee ring. "Ironman" Jordan Jones followed as the announcers noted that these two men are facing each other in a rematch of sorts as they both battled it out at Summer Breakout for the UGA TV title and were the last two men remaining in the "Survivors" match. Derek Stallion also quickly mentioned that this was Jones first match back since being destroyed by THP a few weeks ago in the TV Title Unification match. The bell rang and both men locked up. Yaro quickly took the offense to Jones, who kept fighting back. Both men wrestled solid as the action went back and forth. Three minutes in, Yaro hit Jones with his Hilton Head Special finisher, an inverted backdrop suplex out of no where to get the pinfall. "Man In the Box" by Alice N Chains began to blast as Yaro asked for the mic. Yaro took the mic and said "Cut the music!" Yaro went on to say that he hasn't forgotten about his match with Shane Russell for a World TV Title shot at the pay-per-view and mentioned the la st few weeks with Russell and Yaro watching each other's backs. "That all ends at 'Bring it On', Shane. Don't you forget that. I want that TV Title shot just as much as you do and I won't stop until I get it. But until then, I've got your back!" With that, "Man In the Box" began once more and Yaro headed to the back. The scene cut backstage. (WINNER: CHAD YARO via Pinfall in 3:17) HIA TAO/SEAN DOCAINE BACKSTAGE -The show cut to the back where Hia Taoo was walking around the hallway and after turning a corner bumped into Sean "Sugar Daddy" Docaine. Tao smiled and patted Docaine on the back telling him that he's his buddy and he doesn't want to wrestle him but cannot understand why the two have to fight tonight. Docaine laughed and brushed Tao off and Tao asked him what was wrong. Docaine walked off but Tao tried to see if he was okay. Docaine turned and nailed Tao with a right hand as the crowd watching on the video wall boo'ed. Docaine then told Tao: "Listen, the last few weeks, you and I working together, that was just business. You screwed up last week so I was the one that requested the match with you! It was ME! You better get ready little bitch because tonight, you're just going to be the next fallen victim!" Docaine then walked off as Tao looked upset, realizing that Docaine had used him all along. The scene then cut to ringside where Derek Stallion and Jesse Rhodes recapped the events involving JaMeS RioT and Jon Massey, the UGA President. With that recap, Jon Massey appeared live via satellite on the video wall from his home. Stallion talked to Massey through the mic. UGA PRESIDENT JON MASSEY LIVE VIA SATELLITE -Stallion asked Massey how the negotiattions were going and Massey told him that he has good news to report. "The negotiations are running much more smooth than I first imagined, and at UGA Bring It On in less than two weeks, we hope to be able to settle our differences there!" Stallion asked Massey how so and if he meant "settle" as in having a match. Massey said the two would not have a match but he and RioT both hope to have a mutual settlement in the ring in front of fans all over the world. Stallion asked Massey if he would return before the pay-per-view and Massey said that brought him to his next point. "For the next few weeks, I am going to be quite busy with this issue and a number of other issues. Therefore, I would like to publically announce something that became official a few days ago over the weekend. I have decided to appoint an interim president. Someone who works quite hard in the UGA and does not get a lot of credit or recognition. That man, I'd like to announce is Storm Richards!" The crowd and the announcers both acted stunned as Massey mentioned that Richards should be arriving to the arena shortly and he is sure that he will do a good job. Massey then concluded by saying: "I'll see each and everyone of you at UGA Bring It On!" With that, the satellite feed faded out as the announcers recapped the huge announcement that Storm Richards is now the UGA Interim President. The scene then cut outside of the arena in the parking lot where Storm Richards was pulling his bags out of his car and heading in. The announcers noted that the new UGA Interim President has arrived and that when we come back, we'll see footage of his first day in the UGA offices that took place over the weekend. The show then cut to break. -Commercial- INTERIM PRESIDENT STORM RICHARDS FOOTAGE -The show returned with footage of Storrm Richards at the UGA offices over the weekend. We see Storm going into his office and opening the door. As he walks in, he turns on the lights and Dave "The Dominator" Morrison is sitting in Storm's chair. Storm looks rather surprised and before he can say anything, Dave speaks up, "Well, I was expecting Jon but I guess you'll do. How ya doin Storm? Remember me?" Storm gulped, perhaps showing a bit of fear as he nodded his head and mumbled yes. "That's right, it's ole Dave back again. And this time, we're going to do things my way.", continued Morrison. "No Disco Dave, no Natcha Guy, no Luke Warm Dave Morrison, just you and me, the Dominator." Morrison spun the chair around and propped his feet up as Storm sat his bags down and tried to speak once more. "Wait now Storm, all I have to say is that as long as you keep things like that, everything will be real nice. But if you dare so even think about me dressing in some ridiclous costume, going by some ludicro us name or acting like a moron again, you and I....we're going to have some problems." Dave then popped up out of the seat. "No, scratch that. YOU will have the problems!" Storm showed more fear as Dave walked around to where Storm was standing. "You got all that?," Dave asked only inches from the side of Storm's head. Storm nodded his head in nervousness. "Good, I'll seeya then." Dave then walked out of the office and Storm just eyed the back of him as he walked out. Storm turned around, sat down and wiped the sweat from his head. The scene faded out. The show then cut back live to the arena where the announcers mentioned that Storm Richards did not have a very good first day in the office due to his altercation with Dave "The Dominator" Morrison, a returning superstar that's been out of action for well over a year. The announcers then reminded us that the Interim President arrived just before break and is in the building. With that, "Welcome to the Jungle" began to play and Mighty Ryan Kelly made his way out to the ring. Kelly entered the ring as the announcers mentioned the contract signing situation involving Edward Sprinkle and Gamblin Gray and that being the reason behind the card change. "Break Stuff" by Limp Bizkit began to play and Joe Snow made his way out to the ring. MIGHTY RYAN KELLY vs. JOE SNOW -The announcers mentioned both men's caareers and their experience and said that despite all of that, the two men have only faced each other twice in their careers, with both men holding a victory over the other. The match began with back and forth action. The two men worked each other over with some great mat wrestling from the start. The quick action kept the crowd on their feet and slowly but surely, Joe Snow took control. Four minutes in, Snow had control when Kelly began to counter Snow's "Snow Plow." Kelly dropped Snow with three consecutive suplexes but Snow continued to fight back. A minute later, Snow fought back and dropped Kelly with the Snow Plow. Snow then hit his Snowden Senton Bomb to get the pinfall victory. (WINNER: JOE SNOW via Pinfall at 5:05). The crowd cheered as "Break Stuff" played. Kevin Candido ran out and attacked Joe Snow as he had his arm raised. Gamblin Gray then made his way out. All four men began to brawl in the ring as security and officials made their way out. Gray began to beat on security and officials too before he finally cleared the ring of everyone. He took the mic and called for his "fluke opponent", Edward Sprinkle to get his ass out to the ring. With that, Sprinkle ran out from the back and charged the ring. EDWARD SPRINKLE vs. GAMBLIN GRAY -The two men began to brawl it out but Gray quickly got the upper hand and began to dominate Sprinkle early on. Three minutes in, Kevin Candido ran back out and went to attack Gray. Mighty Ryan Kelly and Joe Snow ran out as well and all four men began to brawl on the outside. While the referee tried to break the men up, Larry Gionet ran out from the back and entered the ring. Gionet grabbed Edward Sprinkle and dropped him with a death valley driver. Gionet then left the ring and headed to the back. Meanwhile, Gamblin Gray re-entered the ring and blasted Edward Sprinkle over the head with it. Gray then picked up Sprinkle and dropped him with the "Coma Gray", or Roll the Dice type manuever. Gray then locked in the "Creeping Death" Tazmission finishing move. Sprinkle quickly tapped out and Gray was given the victory. (WINNER: GAMBLIN GRAY via Submission in 4:47). The show then cut backstage. BACKSTAGE -The show cut to the back where Larry GGionet was standing by laughing. "Sprinkle, I cost you your match. Just like you did to me last week. And you see Edward, your goal here is to make sure I never win the UGA World Championship. Well Edward, my new goal is to make sure you never win a match period! That's not confidence or b.s., that's legendary!" The scene then cut elsewhere backstage to where Dave Morrison is walking into the arena, arriving at the show. The show then cut to break. -Commercial- [Part 3 is Next]
