Spaced Out
Hi! WELCOME TO THE SPACED OUT PAGE. My name is ANTOINE FAFARD. I'm a bass player, arranger and composer. Spaced Out is the name of my original band project.
I like to listen to all kind of music. I particully like progressive rock, heavy rock, orchestral music, any kind of jazz and most of complex or minimalist instrumental music. As a bass player, I like to play all the style of music.
As a composer, I'm particully influenced by musicians like Keith Emerson, Jan Hammer, Eddie Jobson, John Mclaughlin, Frank Zappa, Trevor Rabin, Igor Stravinsky, Sergey Prokofiev, Bélà Bartok, and many more... My bass playing is influenced by players like Jaco Pastorius, Victor Wooten, Billy Sheehan, Stuart Hamm, (...)
The present Spaced Out formation is composed of a "jazz fusion" ensemble. I meen by that: drums, electric guitar, electric bass & keys. I will also maybe ask some guest to blow some horns... And with my experience with the big band writting, I would like to build one of these days a Spaced Out Big Band...
My bass is a Yamaha Trb5p (see the picture). I use for head a Trace Elliot MP11 and a Trace Elliot RA 300 Twin Channel Power Amplifier. For speakers, I particully use a Eaden (2 x 10"). I work with the Roland JV-880 sound module, Cakewalk to program my compositions and arrangments and I also fool aroud with drums samples and loops. The CD that we recorded contains keyboard sequences. For live performance with sequences, I use the Yamaha MDF3 Midi Data Filer. But there's nothing like a real player!
