Drew Barrett is a singer/songwriter, producer/engineer from New York. He has been writing, recording and playing live music for over ten years.
Drew began his music career fronting the hard rock band Barakade. Barakade released a full-length CD titled Volume 1 in 1995. Drew co-wrote all eleven songs on the disc. Several songs from that release went into heavy rotation on many college and commercial radio stations in the US. The band was also popular overseas in Europe and Japan. Unfortunately, the band broke up in 1997 due to irreconcilable differences. Drew has been writing and recording songs for his debut album ever since.
The new CD is titled, The Strolling Minstrel, and it will be released in July 1999. It took Drew two and a half years to record because he played all the instruments himself except for two of the Bass guitar tracks. Drew will be touring throughout 1999 and 2000 to support the new album.
