Dean & Luis Acevedo created Layla Records to promote Dean's music. Luis provided the start-up capital. Luis is a captain in the Los Angeles County Fire Dept. Dean works as a teacher in the Montebello School Dist.
The Acevedos grew up in the East Los Angeles/Montebello area. Their parents immigrated from Mexico, so they are very proud of the fact their kids have university degrees. The boys first experienced music through the public school system. Their parents strongly encouraged them.
Dean developed a love for pop music early in his teens. The Beatles were a great early discovery. Eventually he came to enjoy a wide variety of music including: classical, jazz, pop, rock, r&b, and music from all over the world. He was involved in bands since high school, eventually getting kicked out of most of them. That's one of the reasons for this solo project. That and also his interest in song writing and songwriters.
Luis has 3 lovely children and a beautiful home in Chino hills, Ca. He is a big music fan and a great supporter of his brother. Without his faith & action, Dean would not have this opportunity to follow his dreams.
Eventually Layla Records would like to promote other local artists & Friends.
