Like Mardi Gras played out to a hard rock soundtrack, 50 Mission Crush has built a reputation as one of Austin, Texas' premier rock bands through a live show that's anchored by dead-on music and an unpredictable atmosphere. "We're all about having a good time on and off stage," says guitarist Will Traylor. Singer/guitarist Chris Rasmussen adds, "We are inspired by the bands that have the ability to entertain while still writing solid melodic rock songs like early Van Halen, The Stones, and Iggy Pop. Those are the bands that rock hard enough for the guys and are still melodic and groove oriented to make the girls dance."

50 Mission Crush began in 1997 when Chris Raz met Will Traylor and began writing songs. Drummer Chris Didear joined shortly thereafter, and bass player Chris Wodock soon moved to Austin from New York City. The band began writing as a whole and released their debut, self-titled CD one year later. The CD was added to over 80 college and commercial radio stations nationally. In support of their first CD, they have toured New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philidelphia, Columbus OH, Texas, and Indiana. Work began to pay off when MTV put 50 Mission Crush's 9x12 picture - along with a quote, in the 1998 MTV Video Music Awards book/program which was seated on every chair at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles to be read and taken home by all who attended.

The 50 Mission Crush web site has been extremely successful with over 104,000 hits worldwide in just 11 months. Their web site has downloadable .mp3s that are also on MP3.com, Listen.com, Garageband.com, The Billboard Talent Network (BTN) and ClubCastLive.com. 50 MC has made numerous television appearances locally and been the feature for many of those appearances. Their live performance videos and video/single for "Confused" have received regular rotation on the Austin Music Network. Along with TV, they have made many radio appearances. The song "My Girl" was used on KLBJ 93.7's "Local Licks Live" compilation CD as well as the song "Wack" on Aspen Colorado's "Tracks from Trenchtown." 50 MC's song "Green Fly" was listed in the College Music Journal for Top 30 Rotations at KLPI in Louisiana.
