Landslider
Evan Lea, aka "LANDSLIDER", is a not so bad guitar player and blows a half -decent harmonica. He has dabbled in slide guitar over the years too, hence the name, Landslider. His original songs are kind of clever and his vocals are passable on a good night. He spent many years trying to please everybody but never really pleasing anyone too much. Due to a lack of confidence, but a high standardof quality, Evan frustrated himself for quite some time. His favorite saying became, "The biggest problem with the music business is that you have to deal with musicians." Being a stubborn cuss, Evan never played the guitar and harmonica together. He preferrred to play them individually as he thought it looked goofy to wear the harmonica holder around his neck. Long story short, he spent many years playing up and down the west coast.. From L.A. to the Northern reaches of British Columbia , Canada, Evan put together band after band always hoping that this time he would get it right . In the meantime he quit many day jobs only to end up back at square one with no job and no band.
Finally, at an age when most people would pack it in as a lost cause, Evan decided to buy a harmonica holder and see if he could play the guitar and harmonica together. It so happens as a guitar player he is mediocre and not much better on the harmonica . The same goes for slide guitar. He never did figure out how to sound like B.B. King the way millions of other guitar players in every jam session in every bar from the Atlantic to the Pacific do. But, eureka! Low and behold, when Evan strapped on the old tomahawk and started strumming out his tunes and blowing on the harp something magical happened. The whole became much greater then the individual parts and the unique sounds produced are actually palatable. some might even say it sounds pretty cool. evan has quite an eclectic repertoire of original songs. He does not like to waste too much time butchering other people's material even though he knows quite a few classic Blues and Rock songs. Being a sucker for punishment he still plays some old favorites for the die-hard fans.
So if you are tired of the some old, same old , give LANDSLIDER a listen. You never can tell, maybe the next performance will be the one that puts Evan over the top. Maybe he is better than he thinks he is after all.
