On August 13th 2006 a call came in from Connie of Pound Buddies Rescue telling me there was a puppy that needed me she then filled me in on all the awful details of a Sweet 4 month old Rottwhiler who was found tied up at the dog house in front of Animal Control .Pound Buddies Rescue (PBR ) had taken Ryan into see a area vet because Baby Ryan was nothing but skin and bones plus he was burned on his belly and penis it was learned that the burns were urine burns and were infected. The vet put him on antibiotics,
On August 14th. we picked up Baby Ryan.  After seeing Ryan I called our vet on the way back to see if we could bring him right in to be looked at.Dr. L examined Ryan and just shook his head in disbelief he put Ryan on more meds and also cream for his belly and penis. Ryan was 4 months old and weighs 10.1 # Dr. Told me his burns came from laying in urine and filth. He had fly bites on his ears and also had an ear infection.

But even with all he had been though Baby Ryan was so very sweet he never asked for anything and had tons of kisses for all of us. What kind of person would do this to a baby ?

After 8 days with us he already looked better ...funny what food and love can do for an animal.
Playing with Camppy another rescued puppy
Playing tug with Kimberly his 14 year old human sister.
Getting ready for a walk with Kimberly ...but first a nose wipe. Baby Ryan had so much discharge from his nose it had to be cleaned all the time.
Oh how he loved to play and chew on anything.
Now for the walk...
Baby Ryan had to take many "rests" what ever he was doing.
Another ' Rest' after he ate some of his scrambled eggs.
Baby Ryan playing with Shenna another rescued pup. They had tons of fun.
Another Walk Around
Baby Ryan would make anything a toy
Baby Ryan's Favorite Bone he is guarding it here from Danny Boy
(His bone was put in his casket with him.)
Baby Ryan would have his tongue sticking out most of the time it was too cute...
Baby Ryan & Danny Boy

As of 11-25-06 Danny Boy is still here waiting for a family...
The Blue toy bone in the upper picture  was Baby Ryan's very favorite toy, we took it to MSU with us and it is now still with Baby Ryan
The Last Walk On the Farm
Baby Ryan and Mr. B (dad) going for their walk, Baby Ryan would always stay with Mr. B. no leash was ever needed...
Baby Ryan would always stop and looked back
Baby Ryan even had Cat Friends this one is Blue she is 13 years old. Emma the shelter cat was also his buddy.
Baby Ryan loved his walks with " dad "  They would walk 3-4 times a day depening on how Baby Ryan was doing.
Baby Ryan came to us 8-14-06  at 4 months old during his short life he had endured and suffered many things , being starved , living in filth laying in a crate soaked with urine to the point of it burning his belly and penis , Pneumonia , Pyoderma ( a skin infection) , and ear infections while in our care he seen a few different vets, he had many kinds of meds and also daily injections. Baby Ryan went up and down and we tried so hard to get him well and if love could make him well he would still be here with us. Baby Ryan's vet arranged for special testing to be done on him at MSU to see if they could find the source of infection and how to clear it up , so on Nov. 1st 2006 Mr. B and I drove him to MSU , it was a great day we stopped along the way and walked him we talked to him during our long ride once there we were in a room waiting for the vet to come, we played and loved and was so excited that maybe now we could at last get Baby Ryan well. After the vet examined Baby Ryan it was decided they would start testing. we were to come back at 5:00 p.m to pick Baby Ryan up.

Baby Ryan, arrested at MSU shortly after they finished the tests on him. They did bring him back and worked on him for over an hour he would not breath on his own they put a chest tube in him and did many other things to try and save him the last thing was to put him on a ventilator Mr. B and I decided that we did not want him to go through any more and by his not trying to breath on his own we felt he was telling us enough is enough. We was with him and let him go peacefully. We brought him home with us and Baby Ryan has his final resting spot here.

Baby Ryan met many caring people while he was with us and every one who met him fell in love with Baby Ryan, he just had that " something " very special about himself. Baby Ryan had many good days here with us and we had great fun with him on his good days. Baby Ryan stole our hearts and we loved him dearly. He was one of the nicest dogs that ever came to our rescue, and we will for ever miss him.

Baby Ryan had many internet friends as well people who prayed for him daily and who loved him although they never met him. I decided to make this page for Baby Ryan for a couple reasons. One to show off some of his good day pictures and two to maybe educate folks about what can happen to animals when they are so abused as Baby Ryan was, now someone had to see this puppy in the condition before he was taken to Animal Control and chained up outside when they were closed, shame on you if you seen this sweet puppy and said nothing. If you do ever see any animal being abused , starved PLEASE , PlEASE report it.If you don't know who to call look on www.petfinder.com
and find the nearest Rescue to you and call them they can help and direct you.
Baby Ryan's page is dedicated to my wonderful husband Mr. B. who spent countless hours walking, playing and loving Baby Ryan. And Mr. B . I knew Baby Ryan was never going anywhere had he survived, after over 2,000 rescues coming through here he is the only one who truly stole your heart.
He loved you too.

To sister and Bob ........God gave me this ......weeks ago ....i didn't know why ....now i do .I am very very sorry .......i know how hard you tried .....

-Heaven knows

I was never supposed to stay

your heart was a stop along my way

I had to learn to run and play

and you had to, remember how to pray

I took your love

it paved the way

for my journey to the other side

where no sweet babies ever have to die

here we are all safe and loved

no fear, pain or hunger.. here above

we just play and play

and wait for the day

when we are joined by our earthly loves

you love us swell

but He loves us well ....

For we are His creatures ,Made with His Hand

He loves us best ,but you passed the test

If you provided some comfort along my way

He knows your worthy to come also someday

We have received many nice emails after the passing of Baby Ryan, and would like to share part of one that really hit home. This one is from one of Baby Ryan's many internet friends

God had a mission for Ryan and when He felt Ryan had done his job he took him home.  This is such a crazy, stressful world and we forget how to be kind and loving. In less than 4 months a little, sickly dog made us all remember how to love unconditionally with our entire heart and soul.  I will never forget Ryan and each time my heart starts to harden I will think of Ryan and remember what he has taught.  Ryan not only did his job he worked a few miracles in his short time on this earth.
