Nepal

Nepal is very relaxing. The capital Kathmandu is quite busy but
the countryside is very calm. The country has a good structure for tourism
and very good options for people who like hiking, trekking, rafting and this
sort of things. I went rafting with Nacho in a two-day "expedition" starting in
the border with China, was amazing. At the same time you have a western
area in Kathmandu Centre area called Thamel with western
restaurants, supermarket, bakeries and even some very nice bars.

The place shown in the picture below is called Durbar Square and
foreigners have to pay to have access to it. With the time you find out
how to visit the square without paying the entrance fee.
Until the early 20th century the Durbar Square in Kathmandu was
the King's residence.

In this very same square you find the widow of the
Kumari (living goddess). You can even meet her but she was not there this day.

The monkey temple (below) offers a very good sight of the city and
some fun with the monkeys around (considered gods). There you can
also see some Buddhist ceremonies. Below these pictures you will find
a picture of Kathmandu (taken from the Monkey Temple).

These are some friends we met in Kathmandu:
Greg, George and Gary.
