Everwood
(The WB, 8pm; CKY 7pm) Ephram is planning on moving to New York with his grandparents. Delia and her grandma plans a town invited birthday party for Edna, who is not happy about birthdays. Harold makes Bright go to his grandmother's party who tries to "fake" being sick. Bright and his grandmother don't get along. Ephram hasn't decided to tell Amy that he was planning on leaving nor has he told Delia. Andy can't get up the words to tell Ephram that he doesn't want him to go. During the party though, Ephram and Andy have it out, informing everyone. Ephram asks his father whether he thinks he would be better off in Everwood or happier in New York. Andy tells him that he knows Ephram would be happier in New York. Ephram takes this to mean that Andy doesn't care whether he stays or goes. Bright really isn't feeling well, he has appendistis. Because of the snowstorm, they can't get to the hospital, so the Abbotts are planning to stay the night. Amy asks Ephram if he was even going to tell her he was leaving. He wasn't sure. He tells her that she effects his moods, when she's around him, he's happy but when she isn't or tells him "to move on" it sticks with him. Andy lays into his father-in-law, about how he's taking Ephram away from him. His father in law tells Andy that he is half a man and just because he is squandering his talents here in this small town, doesn't mean he can take Ephram down with him. That he lost his daughter because of Andy and that he deserves to have someone. Bright's appendix bursts and needs surgery. But since there is no way they can get to the hospital, Andy takes Bright to his office and performs surgery there, with his father-in-law there to help. Bright turns out to be fine. Edna tells her grandson that she was proud on how he handled himself during the surgery, being awake through it and all. She also gets him to promise to not to get that sick again, she was scared. He promises as long as she leaves the army talk behind and talk nicer to him. Delia brings Bright some cake, she has a crush on him. Andy really talks to Ephram this time, telling him that although he knows he'd be happier in New York, but he is needed there in Everwood, because Andy needs him to be there. The next day, Amy runs into Ephram at the cafe and tells him that their feud has to be over, because when she was mad at Colin, he fell into a coma and her fight with Bright comes just before his appendix bursted and she doesn't want anything to happen to him. Ephram tells her that he's not going to New York, that he's staying here. What changed his mind? she asks. New York lacks one thing that Everwood has. Amy tells him that he's not like anyone in Everwood and that she's glad he's staying. Different how? Just different. Before the grandparents head off, they stop by Andy's office to say goodbye. His father in law apologizes on what he said earlier about himm only being half a man. That he has changed since being in Everwood, and he likes the new Andy and he wishes that his daughter meet the guy. He then realizes that the rail station (Andy's office) reminds him of this place way back when they got stuck during a snow storm and how mesmorized his daughter was with the town. He asks if she ever told Andy about the place. Andy just smiles and asks him to tell him about it. (For those who didn't catch this detail in earlier episodes, Everwood is that very place and that she told Andy that she wanted to go there eventually.  This is why Andy moved his family here after she died)
