Worked in different aspects of the Kelly Public Affairs mission. Most recently was responsible for office web publishing activities, which included a weekly web edition of the base newspaper. Published utilizing Microsoft Frontpage 98. Duties also included news media escort, planning and executing media events including news conferences, air show support, and exercise media coverage assistance. Published newsletters and prepared a Powerpoint presentation for base cable television channel. Work requires holding a Secret clearance.

  • Shared office recognition which included Outstanding Air Force awards, Air Force Materiel Command awards and other specialized awards.

1989-1999 NEWS DIRECTOR, Radio Station KBUC-FM and KBOP-AM, Pleasanton and San Antonio, Texas (part time)

Worked part-time as news reporter, anchor and as news director. At one point the station broadcast 6 newscasts a day, however most of tenure aired two long newscasts and two headline shows. Conducted taped and live interviews, covered elections, city council and school board meetings, and special events, including county fairs, junior stock shows and community festivals.

1980-1990 INVENTORY MANAGMENT SPECIALIST, San Antonio Air Logistics Center Office of Public Affairs, Kelly Air Force Base, Texas

Managed acquisition, repair and disposition of Air Force supply items.

1981-1986 PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICER, 433rd Airlift Wing, Air Force Reserve, Kelly Air Force Base--Reserve (part time)

Multiple duties, which included planning, organizing and executing public affairs plans and activities for a Reserve C-130 transport unit. Rose to rank of lieutenant colonel. Secret clearance required.

  • Participated in deployment exercises, one of which was to Europe. Supported overseas missions and airlift competition exercise.
  • Was recognized as Outstanding Air Force Reserve Public Affairs officer in 1995.
