A western Canaans summer report
by "Dwight"

I had a wonderful summer with my family. We all enjoyed camping and swimming together and my webbed toes helped propel me through the water like a champ.  At home, you can usually find me in the kiddie pool or climbing the pine tree in the back yard looking for birdies.

My family was surprised by my climbing abilities when one day they saw my little white head poking out of the branches a third of the way up our tree!

I'm a real a snuggler who feels so much a part of the family.  Even Chip, the cat, has grown to tolerate me!

I am halfway done my classes in basic obedience and am one of the star pupils. I do  nightly training sessions with Jay and Lane and have been very well behaved on my off-leash walks - another point of pride with my family.  Only one incident, involving finding and rolling in some poop...  Nothing a little doggie-shampoo and a new collar won't fix.

I get a lot of comments on how well behaved I am. I have a  BFF (best friend forever), Griff, who is a Staffordshire, that teaches me good canine behaviour and I teach Griff how to play (Griff is 4 yrs. old).  We chew bones, play with the same toy and swim together...totally inseparable.

My cousin Hurley, boxer cross, comes over to play a lot and we like to do hot-laps in the backyard until we are totally wiped out. We also like  getting  into some mud....usually I'm  the one delegated to digging and Hurley stands right behind me to catch all the mud in her mouth, chest, ears and anywhere else.

The end.
