| Newsies was a movie (if you didn't know that) created over ten years ago, in the year 1992. Critics said that the movie bombed in the box office, but of course I wasn't able to know that at the age of five. Even though the movie cost Disney a lot of money in losses it really isn't a failure in thousands of fans lives today. If you'd just happened to type in that single word (Newsies) in a search engine at such places as Yahoo.com and Google.com you can see just how many people view it as I do. There are hundreds of sites created in honor of those courageous boys, the newsies. Like I said, the critics say that it was all an utter failure, but we, the fans, will always have it's legacy centered in our hearts and in our minds. Perhaps if Disney had not centered it viewing pleasure at such a young audience and released it at a later time, more so when I was a tad older, it might have done much better in the Box office. Everyone in my grade watched Newsies in the 6th grade and fell in love with the songs and terrific story (maybe not quite as much as I did). No they all probably don't know who the characters Pie Eater and Kid Blink are and that the movie took months to create, but still. It is the fact that they think it is a pleasurable movie to watch is what counts. I can never forget all of the memories that Newsies has created in my life, be it discussing the songs with my friends or spending countless hours drawing scenes from the movie and writing 60 chapter stories involving the characters. I am not going to add some of the reviews that Newsies has received in the past. Most of them stunk and I personally don't enjoy reading them. From what you have just read you can tell my point of view about the movie. I am the reviewer now and I say: Bravo! Bravo! to anyone who was involved with the creating of this movie, the most spectacular movie of all time! Two thumbs up! |
