Marriage
My concept of marriage has changed since becoming a born-again Christian. I have a stronger bond with my husband. The oneness seems to be more what I think God had in mind.

I look at these two scriptures,

Genesis 2:24 So a man will leave his father and mother and be united with his wife, and the two will become one body.

Matthew 19:5-6 When God made the world, he made them male and female. And God said, So a man will leave his father and mother and be united with his wife, and the two will become one body. So there are not two but one. God has joined the two together, so no one should separate them.

The two one.

I used to believe that polygamy was an eternal principle, that if I made it to the celestial kingdom, I would share my husband with many wives. Because of this heaven did not seem real appealing.

Well, now that Im not a Mormon, I honestly dont think polygamy is beautiful at all. I think Joseph Smith made it up just so he could have more women. Emma was adamantly opposed to the celestial law as Joseph put it. Sadly, Joseph used his authority as a prophet to give a revelation to her that states, If ye abide not that covenant, then ye are damnedAnd let my handmaiden, Emma Smith, receive all those that have been given unto my servant JosephBut if she will not abide this commandment she shall be destroyed. D&C 132:4, 52, 54. Despite this revelation, Emma claimed to her dying day that Joseph had nothing to do with polygamy. All of Josephs weddings were done in secret. That was a big conflict between she and Brigham Young as Brigham Youngs presentation of polygamy to the church was based on Joseph Smiths having instituted it.

Brigham Young had 66 wives. He did so publicly so it was less shady that way. But it sounds pretty selfish to me anyway. How can two be one? Where is the beautiful relationship?

Marriage between one man and one woman, the two becoming one, is a beautiful God-given plan and I am growing in love to God for it.
