In History class, we were talkin bout America, and what jobs kids had to do. Then, so kid asked- How old did u have to be to work for like a company back then? OMG. then my teacher starts, Has ne 1 ever seen Newsies? Of course, everyone looks at me, and goes Becky....(yeah, I got a real name!) Any way, my teacher starts up this whole story of how her niece got da movie for a graduation gift, (I like that niece, good taste.) and how she has never seen it before and she would have to borrow it from her niece. I was so excited. There I was thinkin bout Jack, and Race, and all da oddas, when this topic came up. She answered that u had to be 15 for the pony express, or something of dat nature. All day I couldn't stop thinkin bout how cool it would be to watch Newsies in school, and waste a bunch of class time.hehe In Math class, da next period, I was trying to convince someone to ask da teacher if we could watch da movie, but they wouln't. (Eric was sapossed too. Pooh Hewad!) I got da movie taped from da Disney channel. My brodda taped it, I was too young. I am so obsessed, I wrote da words to Santa Fe on da back of my Science notebook. (da last period of da day.) After school, I was really bumbed, cuz no one asked bout da movie, even though some of my friends really wanted to see it.(Nicole?!?!) I was talkin to Sasha, and we decided to try our luck and see if we could watch it. We got her in a good mood, and said:
"We have a propasition to make about Social Studies." *I usually don't use big words*
"Really. What is it?"
(I am talking lol) I have Newsies on vhs, taped from Disney, with no swears(dat counts)m, and I thought it would be interesting if we watched it in class."-short, sweet, and to da point.
"Huh. Bring it tomorrow." that is what she said.
Let me tell u, I was on cloud nine da next day. We got to watch my fav movie in History class, and skip a whole lesson. I was in MAJOR heaven.
So, to Newsies Fans everywhere. All it took was a simple question to get Newsies on in da classroom. Dat just goes to show, anythings possible. The fact dat my teacher heard of da movie, had NOTHING to do with da fact we got to watch it.*wink wink*
