There is a new place, is the hot place to be and that is ENRON PARK, where the ASTROS play ball. It is downtown not way out where the dome is so that is nice. It is something to see, and you must bring the family for this show. First, it is outdoor, but if it rains the roof come on, so they keep playing ball. Second, there is a train, it rides across the back of the stadium, Yes! an old train with smoke and a loud whistle. The kids will love that and it goes back and forth all the game. Third, they made the fence real short so you see lots of home runs. Man, they fly out of there into the street! There is a hill in right field, the players have to climb up to catch the ball, just think of that.
There are LOADS of other attraction too, like the dome patrols, these guys they run all around and wear hats with sticks on, and people throw rings on the hats. Then they have HUGE slingshot and shoot ball into the crowd. Don't worry they are foam balls not real, so nobody will get hurt I guess. Yes, there are lots of chances to get souvenirs from your seats, One guy sells these big foam fingers. Another has wooden bats, they are miniature but just like the real thing! If you want to watch your money though, you can go when this guy pitch, named LIMA, man you will see lots of free souvenir balls in the stands! Well this Lima, he gets there early, will wear his hat funny, and wigs, like a clown, sometime he joke with other players, or the crowd. Man, when he pitch to, the ball fly all over the park! It is well worth your dollar to see him and maybe you are lucky and "Wrangler" the coach will put in Doug Henrys or Yorkish Perez too as they are "crowd favorites" with the kids.
The food is great like the finer places, they have great dogs, but they
aren't Dome Dogs, but are good but that's not all, they have bar-b-q and even have a potato LOADED with stuff for people that want to eat healthy. They have pizza, it is famous Degrorio's or something like what you've heard before. The beer is in plastic bottles, that is new, but the same beer, just in safe bottles.
Overall it makes for a great outing, even walking to the car is fun, lots of friendly folks, one man, he yells at me but I think he mistake me for another guy, but he was friendly for sure. Just a great evening at ENRON PARK.
