HOW COULD YOU OWN THIS CAR?
Actually- it was an easy decision. My last vehicle was a 2001 F-150, don't get me wrong, it was a good vehicle. But I was driving alot, and gas was an issue with me. I really thought I was going to have to get some bare boned SUV, that had more miles on it than most comercial airliners. I had looked around for some time, and found 3 vehicles, A 2000 Nissan X-terra, 2001Ford Escape and My 2002 Santy. The Nissan had over 45,000 miles and was a buy it as it is deal for a "low" price. Then the Ford- Had NOTHING in it. Just barely a radio. Then the Santy- A 2002 with 18,000 miles and loaded- except a sunroof and AWD. I drove all 3 just to get an idea of what they were about. All had V6 and auto- But the Santy had what most would call An auto stick. You can slide the shifter to the right and shift through the gears- The Santy feels tight, handles way abouve it's price range, and the overall fit and finish had the other SUV's beat by a mile. Yep I will admit there are better SUV's out there- BUT I look at value- or bang for the buck, and My opinoin is the Santy has more bang for the buck. Several other people do also. Read This article and see for yourself. There are more expensive models to be had, but few will give you the value that this SUV will. If you are thinking about this SUV, You NEED to visit the Santa Fe Forum- I think the best way to judge a car is not by the Car makers, or the "professional" testers. Read what real owners say. Yes there are complaints, but out of the over 2500 member, world-wide, The good out numbers the bad by a Texas mile. Owners do not have an agenda other then one thing- To buy and own a car they love. and trust to last longer than the bank note. This Forum is one of the best Forums. Information is layed out in an organized manner, This site is easy to navigate through, and the fellow members that I have had conatact with are not only smart about their car, they are willing to share their knowledge with you. I have yet to be told- do not share this information. Again take a look and I think you will be surprised.
SANTA FE DOES WELL AT MUFEST 2003----

W
ell, here is the proof that the Santa Fe is winning over more and more folks- Even the most jaded This year's mudfest, held every year had several TOP DOLLAR SUV's in the contest. Everything from 100,000 dollar Cayanes to the types of SUV's the "normal" family can afford. And guess what? Santa Fe wins Best Value- Now grated the Volvo took the top dog in this contest, but still did not win best value. Why is that- remember I wrote about price and bang for the buck. Now testing the 100,000 dollar SUV against a Santy in my opinion is like testing apples and oranges. I have driven the VW Tourag- and yes I loved it, but for 50 grand plus other charges, I can get 2 Santa Fe's and have enough left over to drive them both. Read about Mud Fest 2003  here. I think this is the reason Santa Fe is going places. Also be on the lookout for an up sized versoin in 2006 to compete with the Ford Explorer. I bet it will not be a contest- Ford if I were you I would be nervous.
