Recently students throughout the country have been given the all important job of hall monitor, general keeper of the peace and anything else called for in the line of duty.

We may need to call upon blind courage as we patrol the corridors, from first years who appear from nowhere to kick you in the shins, to the end of the dangerous corridor, where one might find themselves on the wrong end of a bottle of water.

I believe prefects to be a waste of time. Firstly, the rest of the school don't care, they don't listen and won't pick up anything that has been mildly breathed upon. They laugh at you, and when you ask for their name they reply with something like "I forget" or "Ask him he might know". We are responsible for the supervision of students, which is no easy task.

I must ask what we as prefects get out of it? I leave the answer up to you, hopefully a compassionate advocator.
