| � I can�t believe I�m here either,� He said flatly. Heather pulled back and looked at him. � What�s the matter?� � Nothing,� He said. � I�m just tired, and I�m ready to go.� � Ok, let�s go get your bags,� She said taking hold of his hand. He shook her hand off. � I don�t have any bags. This was a last minute trip,� � Ok, then let�s go.� She said quietly. Nick stared out the window, watching the countless stores flash past. Heather glanced over at him, noticing his tense mood, and decided against bringing up anything that would cause an argument. Nick looked at Heather�s house as they pulled into the driveway. It wasn�t as big as he thought it would be, knowing how much money she had. It was a nice three story house, nonetheless. Heather parked next to a red BMW and climbed out. Nick got out as well. � Whose car?� He asked. � Brian�s. He spent the night,� She said. Nick froze in his spot. This was unbelievable. Could she be anymore brazen? Heather noticed Nick staring for an unusually long period of time at Brian�s car. Something was definitely up. He didn�t seem happy to be there, and yet he flew there from Florida to see her. She�d have to talk to him alone. � Nick, are you coming inside?� She said breaking him from his trance like state. � Yeah,� He said, following her up the steps. Heather dropped her keys on the table and took off her jacket. � Brian?� � Yeah?� He called. � We�re back,� She said. � Cool. I�m in the kitchen talking to Luis.� Heather grabbed Nick hand and dragged him into the kitchen to meet Brian. � What time?� He asked. � She�s only got a week off, before she�s back in London� and her boyfriend just got here� hold on�Are you guys up for a party tonight?� Brian asked sitting the receiver on his shoulder. � No thanks.� Heather answered quickly. � I think I�ll just stay here tonight.� Brian put the receiver up to his ear. � Nope. Looks like it�ll just be me and Katie then. Alright� see ya later,� He said. He turned off the phone and sat in on the counter. � Hey,� � Brian, I�d like you to meet Nick. Nick, this is Brian, one of my best friends in the whole wide world,� � Hey man,� Brian said extending his hand to Nick. Nick hesitated, but shook it anyway. � Hey,� He said. � So what time is this party?� Heather asked. � Ten. At least that�s what he said, maybe later. Hey listen, I�m gonna go and leave you two alone. You haven�t seen each other in a while-� � Brian, you don�t have to do that,� she said. � I know, but I have some things I need to do anyway.
