| Nick drove to the airport blasting music in the car. " What the fuck does she mean i'm not her fucking boyfriend!" He yelled slamming his hand down on the sterring wheel. " We've only been talking for a year... and i'm not her boyfriend?" Too angry to think about it, nick turned his music even louder and drove the rest of the way trying to drown his thought in the music. When he got to the airport he had to pass several security guards, giving them the access code, that Heather had given him. When he was clear, he walked into the waiting room and sat in the large black leather chair. He nervously tapped his fingers on the arnchair. " I'm not her boyfriend," He mumbled. " Then what the hell am I?" Heather smiled to herself, feeling the plane touch down. " Two weeks," She sighed. " Two weeks to myself," She hadn't seen Nick since she'd met him a year ago, but they talked all the time. Sometimes they would talk all night and morning. Nick was the only person besides her family she'd opened up to, and she really cared about him. Hoepfully he cared about her too. Heather grabbed her bag and stepped off the plane, putting on her sunglasses. " Is it always this sunny?" She said to herself. " Mark, Chris, thank you again for the wonderful flight," She said thanking the pilots. " No problem," Heahter." Mark said. We'll see you in two weeks," Heather hugged them both and walked into the airport. She pushed her glasses on top of her head and scanned the airport looking for Nick, but didn't see him. She walked inot the waiting room and dropped her bag on the floor. " Nick Carter, where are you?" Strong arms grabbed her from behind and squeezed her tightly. She gasped, but immediately relaxed. " Where were you?" " Making a phone call. Were you worried i wouldn't show?" He asked. " No," She said turning in his arms. " I knew you'd be here. I just wanted yours to be the first face i saw when i got off the plane," " That's so sweet... considering," " Considering what?" " That you went on national television and told everybody you were single, when here i thought we were in a relationship," He said trying to control his anger. Heather looked into Nick's eyes, seeing the hurt and anger. She felt bad for him. She didn;t mean for him to take what she said so seriously. Afterall, she did say she had someone special. " Nick, that interview-" " Is this your only bag?" He saked quietly, stepping away from her. " Nick-" " We really should get going. Mom's made a big dinner for you, and i don't want to keep her waiting," She started to explain again, but Nick was impatient and just looked at her, waitng for the answer to his questoin. " I have one more bag. it's being delivered later," She said quietly. " Ok then, let's go," Nick said taking her hand and practically pulilng her away. Heahter trailed Nick for most of the way, back to his car in silence. Nick threw her bag in the backseat and opened the door for her before running around. He quickly climbed in and started the car. " Nick, i didn't mean to upset you and i wasn't trying ot exclude you-" " Can we just talk about this later please, Heather?" Heather nodded and looked away. Some start to her wonderful vacation. She felt like a scolded child; The way Nick looked at her and the tone he spoke in. Heather heald her hand down and fiddled with her bracelet. " Nick you may e angry with me for something you thin i did wrong, but i will not let you ruin these next two weeks for me. Hate me if you want, ignore me, say nothing but awful things about me. I don't care," Nick glanced at her before looking back at the road. " About another ten minutes before we're there," Fine," She sighed, looking out the window. Chapter Three |
