Zippo is an amazing boy. Yes, this is the Zippo! He's one of those one in a million horses that you find if you're very, very, very lucky. His sire was a son of the legendary racehorse Three Bars, and his dam was an AQHA champion and a grandaughter of Poco Bueno. Zippo's accomplishments never fail to amaze me. His greatest show season was in 1991, and he never even set foot into the ring. His offspring did it for him! In Zippo's earlier years he was shown as well as being a 'using' horse, brining in the cattle, etc. He's one of those horses that you can do anything on. You can hop up on him, even when he was a young two year old, with just a halter and lead rope and ride him around without a worry! He's truly a one of a kind horse.
The real Zippo was laid to rest Monday, January 12, 1998, under three oak trees near the flagpole at the entrance of the Perry's Ranch. Zippo can watch all the mares and babies, something that he loved to do. To read more about this amazing horse, please click here.
