The Master reports that the Porter applied to be allowed to re-enter his room and get his usual rations and that having no instructions from the Guardians he allowed him his room and his rations also that he reported the matter to the local Government Board and that they referred him to the board of Guardians for instructions.

“Minute”

Resolved That owing to charges made against Edward Ryan (Porter) of drunkenness etc. the Guardians do hereby now dismiss him from his post.

Dr Smith Ballycroy containing the names of 20 defaulters.

Resolved That John O’Donell having failed in his duties as sub sanitary officer on many occasions and after repeated warnings he is now dismissed from his post as sanitary sub officer subject to approval of Local Government Board and that an advertisement be inserted in local papers for a sub sanitary officer for the Newport Dispensary District.
