Read letter from Local Government Board No 6604 Dated 24 th March 1885 inquiring as to whether the amount of the disallowances made by the Auditor of £4 9s 10d and 15 shillings respectively has yet been lodged in the credit of the Union.

Circular letter from Local Government Board No 49M/85 dated 25 th March 1885 stating that from the 1 st proximo the Union will be in charge of their Inspectors Captain Sampson and Dr Dodd.

Resolved. That the Board of Guardians of the Newport Union having this day learned that they are about to be deprived of the valuable services of their worthy courteous and able Inspector Mr Robinson wish to place on record their regret at his removal from this District and to assure him that the valuable services which he rendered to this Union and the kindness , civility and able support in the interests of the Union which the Guardians at all times received from him can never be forgotten and they heartily wish him every success in his new appointment.

Resolved. That the Board of Guardians of the Newport Poor Law Union beg to recommend Dr Jordan of Castlebar to the favourable consideration of his Excellency the Lord Lieutenant for the appointment of Resident Medical Superintendent to the Castlebar Lunatic Asylum.

Circular Letter from Local Government Board No 6665 Dated 25 th March 1885 requesting that they may be informed whether the defaulters under the compulsory Vaccination Act in the Achill Dispensary District entered in minutes of 20 th ultimo have since complied with the law.
