The abstract of the Outdoor relief lists was produced by the Clerk having been duly entered up by him for the last week ended Saturday the 18 th day of April 1885 whereby it appeared that in that week the total expenditure in outdoor relief was

On the requisition of the Master the following articles were ordered viz:

Order No 74 Altar Wine at 13/6
The Master reports that the following persons have applied for clothes and boots that they may take their discharge namely Martin Heveran (his passage being paid to America) Mary Mulloy, Michael Gallagher, Patrick Lavelle and Patrick Daly going out to service.

The Master also reports that the chimney of the laundry is choked up with dirt and requires a mason to clean it.

Read copy of a resolution adopted by the Board of Guardians of the Claremorris Union at their meeting held on the 15 th instant on the subject of the Educational Bill.

Read copy of a resolution adopted by the guardians of the Kilrush Union on the 28 th ultimo re salaries of Inspectors of Explosives

Resolved that the receipt received from the office of the Public Works for the £30 granted to Clerk (to liquidate the surcharge of auditor) be returned to the Local Government Board with the request that the amount be transferred from the office of Public Works to the credit of the Guardians of the Newport Union with their Treasurer as the remuneration given to the Clerk in which the disallowance was made was paid out of the Union funds and not out of the Government grant.
Resolved that the Board concurs in the report of the Committee of the Irish Cattle Trade Association with regard to the importation of store cattle from America and declare that if such importation were permitted it would tend to the ultimate ruin of every small farmer of this Union.
