The abstract of the Outdoor relief lists was produced by the Clerk having been duly entered up by him for the last week ended Saturday the 25 th day of April 1885 whereby it appeared that in that week the total expenditure in outdoor relief was

On the requisition of the Master the following articles were ordered.

The Master reports that the following inmates have applied for clothes and boots that they may make their discharge viz. John Geraghty, Bridget Fadian and Catherine Cafferkey also that he requires leave of absence for one day in the coming week.

Read letter from the Local Government Board No. 15492 dated 30 th April 1885 relative to transferring the £30 refunded by the Clerk of the Union from the Board of Works to the credit of the Guardians.

“Minute”

The Guardians regret that they cannot acquiesce in the statement contained in the local Government Boards letter as they the guardians returned the amount of the disallowances under the Emigration Act to the Board of Works and the £3o0 in question was an item of the disallowances therefore the guardians request the Local Government Board will be good enough to reconsider the matter and have the £30 transferred to the Credit of the guardians of the Newport Union.
