Newport Union

Stating that the Commissioners have transmitted for the information of the Board of Guardians of the Newport Union the accompanying copy of a letter No 115 M 50 addressed to the Board of Guardians of the Westport Union calling their attention to that part of the liabilities adjustment order which authorises a transfer of funds from the Treasurer of that Union to the Treasurer of the New Union and suggesting the course that should be adopted in making such transfer.

The cases of provisional relief and applications for relief were considered and decided on as set forth in the Application and Report books.

The number of applicants admitted to the workhouse was 115

The number of cases of provisional outdoor relief was 21

The number of cases in which relief was continued by the Guardians was 21

The number of other applicants in the Relieving Officers Books relieved by order of Guardians was 109

The number of applicants for which relief was not ordered 221
