Relating to the properties of charred peat for diminishing putrescent or offensive odours arising from privies and sewers of workhouses.

Adverting to the Commissioners circular of 17 th August lat. Transmitting a form of notice to be given under Section 21 of 12 th of 13 Victoria Chap. 104 before a rate is made.
No. 69,710/1849 Date 7 th November 1849
Stating the Receipt of Answers to queries respecting Mr. D. Browne. That his appointment is confirmed when the Elected Board of Guardians meet.
No. 70,574/49 Date 13 th November 1849
Stating that the Commissioners sanction the salary of £50 per year allowed to the Clerk of the union and enclosing queries to be answered.
No. 705/49 N Date 17 th November 1849
Relating to the adjustment of the liabilities of the several townlands comprised in the Westport Union. Also the calculations which will be necessary to make preliminary to a final adjustment of the liabilities of those townlands.
No. 73.020/49 Date 22 nd November 1849
Stating that the Commissioners sanction of the National Bank of Ireland being appointed Treasurers of the union and of the tender of Mr John C. Larminie to let a house for Board room and office until 1 st May next.
The cases of provisional relief and applications for relief were considered and decided on as set forth in the Application and Report books.

That the appointment of the ex officio Guardians of Dodwell Browne to be Clerk to this Union is hereby confirmed.
Resolved: That the Clerk write to the several merchants in Westport and Newport specifying that the Guardians of the Newport union will on Monday the 3 rd day of December next consider tenders for the supply of oatmeal, barley meal, Indian meal, or Rye meal to be delivered at Newport for Outdoor Relief of the above Union for three weeks from 3 rd December.
Tenders to be delivered to the Clerk of the above Union at Newport on or before 11 o’clock on Monday 3 rd December endorsed “Tender for the supplying of meal” accompanied by samples of not less than 2 lbs. weight.
Notice of Motion by Edward Malley Esq. : That the salaries of the Relieving Officers be reduced to be taken into consideration on Monday the 10 th day of December 1849.
