Posted notices at Newport requiring tenders for an office and Board room and for carriage of meal to Achill and Ballycroy.

The cases of provisional relief and applications for relief were considered and decided on as set forth in the Application and Report books.

The number of provisional admissions to workhouse confirmed was 2

The number of cases in which relief was continued by the Guardians was 22

The number of other applicants in the Relieving Officers Books relieved by order of Guardians was 8

The number of applicants for which relief was not ordered 1

Ordered. That the Clerk attend at the Westport Workhouse on Tuesday 13 th November for the purpose of ascertaining the correct number in the workhouse from the Newport union and duly fill up the Register.

Resolved. That the National Bank of Ireland at Westport be appointed as Treasurer to the Newport Union.

Resolved. That the tender of John C. Larminie to supply a house for Board room, office and c. to 1 st day of May next at a remuneration of ten pounds be accepted.

Resolved that the tender of Pat Grehan to carry meal to Achill and Ballycroy at sixpence per cwt. Be accepted .
