It gets cold up here sometimes,
without you by my side,
and there's nothing that I want more than to be next to you.

But I've found out
there's got to be rules,
and there's some things I cannot do,
so I'll watch over you and make sure that
you're always safe.

You've got to move on
there's always something beyond the edge.

Looking down over the edge of the Earth
ironically reminds me of my birth.

Splintered memories of a splintered childhood,
always tried to play but no one ever would
'til you moved in across the street and
timidly waved 'hi' to me.

My best friend,
stuck with me until the end even
though I was a nerd and a geek you were
there for me.

Waiting for you's like pulling splinters,
I'll wait for you as long as I can.
