7.7.03 - RIP New Oxford, May 2001 - September 2002. Definitely a good experience, but real life done got in the way. Adios, music! I will continue to maintain this geocities account, but it will mostly just be a "where are they now" kind of thing. Basically a lame way of possibly drawing attention to whatever new musical projects we happen to undertake. Thanks all for whatever you did for us (too lazy to type it here, but you know who you are and what you did...i hope).

1.16.03 - Well this may be a record - nearly four months of inactivity! We'd like to play one last show before Samip leaves...apparently he's quote-unquote "graduating" this semester, or some shit like that. Anyways, it'd be fun to aurally assail just one more audience with our under-practiced, unoriginal and over-done emo-rock one last time before he leaves. Hopefully something before spring break - we'll e-mail all you poor listeners before then tho - sorry!

9.22.02 - The show went well enough considering we were all short on sleep and I was sick as hell. Within Four Walls played after us, and were totally awesome, as were headliners Bufu Nation - thanks goes to those bands and the League Underground for making the show royally badass despite my illness!

9.20.02 - SHOW TONIGHT!!! 8:30pm at the Michigan League Underground! FREE!!! and FREE REFRESHMENTS!!! DAYAM!!!

8.12.02 - Well, that's a new record for inactivity on our part - I hope you're all suitably impressed. We have a show September 20th at the Michigan League, Which we will tell you more about later, when we damn well feel like it. We haven't been practicing really at all, as a group at least, and we're pretty sure Samip is in India - you can never tell with him though. Anyways, if you want to catch some of our own Grateful Dead-influenced, Sublime rip-off goth-polka jams, try and swing by the league on the 20th of September (it's a Friday - you're already going to be swinging all over the place anyway, with the tender assistance of the Steel Reserve, so you gots no excuse - wa da tah). Anyways, see you round.

5.30.02 - Show at Karl and Howard's (300 E Jefferson, 10pm, free) tomorra, should be fun - premier of the Ex-Catholics...the who? You better come and find out. In ANY case, new song 'splinters' has been posted, check it out, it's lyrically lame to the max.

5.22.02 - DAMN I'M GOOD - Two weeks later, and STILL no recordings! I blame Samip. Anyway, we're playing at Karl and Howard's party at 300 E. Jefferson on May 31st, with One Block West (obviously) and Mons - you're going to come. So, that's that, stick around. Oh we put up a shitty one mic MD recording of 'Ten Years Later' on the songs page - check out the BAD vocals - wooo!!!

5.13.02 - One month later, no recordings...sweet! RIGHT on schedule. We nerds will record next week though. Seriously. I'm not lying - all these other put-offs were a TOTALLY different situation. We're really going to record this time. Keep an eye out for the next news post, two weeks from now, that will contain my complaints and an explanation of why, two weeks from now, we will have managed not to record anything. Made random small updates to the page. I should be in bed. I hate this weather. Happy Mother's Day, all you moms who visit our site all the time...oh yeah, New Oxford is one year old today - look how LITTLE we accomplished! We played let's see...Greenhouse, Hamilton House, Mr. Mugg's, the Blind Pig...4 shows? 4 shows in a year. That's fairly embarassing...4 shows, 0 recordings, 3 websites, 2 drummers, no less than 4 bass guitars, and more short jokes than I could possibly count. Happy birthday!

4.13.02 - Still Alive - Finals are taking their toll though. Waiting on word from the Blind Pig still...Only about two weeks until we start recording - CDs and .mp3s should be available soon after...we'll probably just do 3 songs, something to hand out to booking agents and sheeyit. Peace. Oh wait - I'm going to re-do the webpage, probably, in a little while - i'm getting bored with this black and white business.

3.20.02 - Wooo!!! The Blind Pig show went great, and they asked us to come back and open for Donkey Punch at some undisclosed date in the future. So...they could be bullshitting us. But who knows! We might get to! Thanks to everybody that came to see us, we really appreciated it, and we hope you all got your dogs back. In about a month we'll be recording a 3-song EP in the basement of the Hoov called "We Are Having of Our Toothing Floss." It'll be our first release, and we sincerely hope that it affects dental hygienists in all walks of life. Stay tuned for show dates and shit.

3.11.02 - MORE new songs - that's right. The big show is coming up on March 19th, that's a week from tomorrow. It's a Tuesday, a rock and roll Tuesday. And we're going to rock and roll. On Tuesday. A week from tomorrow. At the Blind Pig. You damn right. Doors at 9:30, admission is FREE if you're old and drunk, $2 if you're young and drunk. Or rather, if you're 19 or 20, it's $2. Or something. Anyway, YOU be there, and ESPECIALLY you be there. And wear a belt. Keep an eye out for the Godzilla flyers up on campus. Peace.

2.17.02 - Hey! The Wired Frog show was really great - we wanna thank Blackened Earth for their heartfelt support for Ann Arbor (wink wink). Seriously though, they were really good, despite being from Lansing. Our next show is set for March 19th at the Blind Pig, which you are going to. There might be more shows scheduled before then, though, so stay tuned.

2.09.02 - Hey you fockers. Jason at the Blind Pig moved our showcase night back two weeks, so that show (details below) is now on MARCH 19th. Also, I hate English Papers, and i need a shower bad. We might record a couple songs over spring break, which would be pretty fuckin' cool. That would honestly rock my shit. So maybe you fockers can download some songs soon. Anyway, yeah - Wired Frog show this friday, and then the Pig next month, and possible shows at the Wooden Nickel and Mug's Hideout in between. Oh and I'm going to put up some battle poses on the bios page soon too. Peace my nizzim.

1.24.02 - We opted to remain a trio, and secured TWO, that's right TWO shows over the next month or so. Our first show is at 8pm at the Wired Frog on February 15th (all ages, $7). Then, we're playing the Blind Pig on March 5th (Free 21+, 19+ $2), sometime that night. Click 'em for directions and stuff. Peace!

1.13.02 - Well, we're shopping around for a new frontman(woman?); whether this is utterly necessary is debatable, but we think that the music will DEFINITELY benefit from it - we'll keep you posted on how the search goes.

1.11.02 - We have a show! We're showcasing at the Blind Pig on Tuesday, March 5th, 2002. We need anyone and everyone who gives a damn to be there. Actually, we don't really, it'd just be nice, 'cuz then they'd ask us to play there again. Aaaaanyway, hopefully we'll get to play a few parties for more than a few drunkards by then, and we should be part of a big charity show that's in the works for late february or early march. In any case, if you're drunk, let us know, and we'll come play music for you. Hell, even if you're not drunk we'll come play music for you. PEACE!

1.3.02 - Happy New Year! We are in search of parties to play - so, if you are a party, we want to play you. If you want us to play you, the party, then let us know. Gracias!

12.26.01 - Songs songs songs...we're getting them together, and who knows? We might even play a show sometime or other. I hope that all of you had a rockin' christmas, and hopefully we'll see you soon. Hopefully I won't take a month to update the page next time...pizzeace y'all.

11.25.01 - Sticking with the rampantly NOT current updates, here is the latest. Our new drummer Joe is phenomenal, and quite possibly the best thing since bread - sliced or unsliced. He simply kicks ass. We have been reorganizing the set and writing some new material and...well, mostly doing homework. Thanks, U of M. Dick. Anyway, we have easier schedules (at least I do) next semester, so hopefully we'll get up off our asses and play you all some music one time or another. Stay tuned!

11.2.01 - Damn - a whole month? Anyway, big changes - we've added a new member. His name...is Joe. And he plays the drums! Samip and I parted ways with former drummer Ben this afternoon, which sucked. We want to thank him for all the time and effort he put in - we really appreciate it.

9.26.01 - Our next show is scheduled for October 10th with good friends One Block West, local pop-punk Takeout, and two Cali bands - should be an excellent show! Everybody come check it out - it's at the always-classic Mugs Hideout in Ypsilanti, MI. Go to
their website for directions.

9.23.01 - It's been a long month or so, getting all set and moved in and getting our set list settled, but we're there, and may be opening for CTF this wednesday, along with good friends One Block West, we'll keep you posted. Enjoy the new website - it's still getting the kinks wired out but it's almost there.

8.16.01 - Rosalyn arrived!!! For those of you who haven't been introduced, she's a beautiful five-string Aria IGB-50 electric bass, silver, with matte chrome hardware...I love her. In any case, she's here, i'm happy, and we've got two more songs on the way, they're rockin' good fun.

7.23.01 - The beginnings of another song are posted - it's not much yet, but in an effort to not be so depressing (and emo?) it's a bit more upbeat. Also, I have come into possession of a new instrument - I am no longer dependent on Karl's bass, but I thank him graciously for his patronage - without him, New Oxford would not be. Thanks bro.

7.21.01 - The show went really well - the mystery band, "somebody else", ended up being Three Feet Short of a Yard, Quincy Ska, and big Plunger fans!!! I do love to meet those Plunger fans...In any case, we had to bail before we saw them, and we apologize - the Hellfish were INCREDIBLE and the Know How were like a real band, they were great. Half of TDX was there (our most loyal fans?) but the other half was at Lynyrd Skynyrd (but like I told Dave, southern rock takes precedence. Over everything). No scheduled shows as of yet, but Samip and I are working on a few more songs to brighten up the set - Samip's new lyrics are posted on the lyrics page, go check 'em out!

7.12.01 - The show is confirmed! The bands start at 8pm at Mr. Muggs in Ypsilanti (go to their website for directions). Scheduled to play: The Fighting Hellfish, their tour mates the Know How, us, and somebody else! Be there!

7.10.01 - HUGE news today, folks, we acquired a PA system (finally) through those monsters del commerce EBay. It's a 300W total Yorkville MP8 setup, verrah nice...we may have a July 18th (speculative) with Toledo skemo legends the Fighting Hellfish and Ann Arbor party ska TDX at Mr. Muggs, we'll keep you all posted - stay tuned for pictures from the show at Ben's and more...

7.6.01 - Our set continues to evolve, breaking free of the ranks of awful, and taking a daring step into the spotlight of mediocrity - Samip has written yet another new song, and I've written a couple as well. We don't know if they suck yet though. We'll keep you posted. l8a.

7.2.01 - Well, the show at Ben's house went pretty well - we debuted three new songs, and I (Adam) broke a 4-day old bass string and two brand new bass picks. Aside from that though, it did go well, and we're about to take a one to two week break to get our set down a little more concrete, and just kind of get settled - we're on the lookout for shows in the second half of July though, so tell all your friends that you know a cool band that wants to play at their cool party. Or tell them the truth. Whichever. I'm not sure if we got pictures from the attic or not, but if we did, you can bet they'll be posted sooner or later, or maybe never, or maybe they're already posted. Maybe I'M already posted. BREAKING NEWS: So far we have five entries in the guestbook, from some four people. Yeah! Later.

6.26.01 - Hey everybody - TDX's pictures from the Greenhouse show are finally posted, check em out - the lyrics for two of our new songs, Lack of Evidence and Love on Holiday, are posted as well as the lyrics to Wired Frog-debut song Compulsion. Be sure to hear them for the first time (except for Compulsion, but since there was no one AT the Wired Frog I'd bet that it'll be new to all of you at Ben's) this Saturday at Ben's house - it should be a rockin' good time! What?

6.17.01 - Um, wow. The Wired Frog show was, without a doubt, the worst performance experience of our lives. The audience included two lawn chairs and one bottle of iced tea. It was ridiculous. None of the bands that afternoon played for more than twenty immobile people though - the Frog just earned themselves the title of Grand False Advertiser. Complete and utter waste of an afternoon - it was ridiculous. On a lighter note, we debuted our new hit single 'Compulsion' and the Iced Tea and one of the Lawn Chairs just loved it.

6.14.01 - The first pictures from the show are posted now - the artsy black and white stuff is still to come (it got outlabbed), as are some shots of the prestigious TDX. We've got a mailing list all set up now, so if you're interested drop us a line at [email protected], or write to us in the guest book. Thanks!

6.11.01 - Well, we survived our first show - TDX did an amazing job opening for us, they were awesome as usual. The Deeyocks (it was their premier as well) were exceptional, and everyone wished that they played more than just one cover song. A big thanks to everyone that came out, thanks again to The Codependents for letting us use their head and mics, and thanks to my own brother Dave for letting me use his sexy bass. Pictures from the show will be posted sometime near the end of this week I think, stay tuned!

6.8.01 - The big show is tomorrow night!!! TDX and cover band The Deeyocks will be opening, should be a quote-unquote "mad crazy" show. HUGE thanks goes out to the Codependents for letting us borrow their PA - as always, you guys are the greatest.

6.4.01 - New Oxford's premier performance is set for this Saturday, June 9th, at the Greenhouse - music starts after 11pm. Be there or be...well, if you don't go, you'll miss a relatively mediocre band, so i guess it's not that big of a loss, but we've been practicing, and want you to come. So come.

5.12.01 - New Oxford formed amidst the turmoil following the disintegration of Punk'n'Pie (kind of like the T1000, but with less liquid metal). Samip (Punk'n'Pie's inspired guitarist) and Adam (pathetically unskilled trumpet player) kept playing though, and went in search of a viable third party. They found Ben, drummer and indie rocker. He was perfect - he could drum punk, but had his own very unique flavor. Samip and Adam produced mediocre songs in a prolific sort of manner, and after sifting through the 10 or 12 written, settled on 6 that felt right.
