Barry Wratten: Clarinet & Vocals: Having traveled the world performing New Orleans Jazz and finally settling in New Orleans where he lived for 15 years, Barry has returned to Melbourne and assembled an exciting band who have established themselves as unique interpreters of 'CRESCENT CITY' music.

Kay Younger: Vocals: A widely respected & admired interpreter of the beautiful ballads, blues & torch songs of the 30's & 40's, Kay began her singing career with Sammy Rimington in England moving with Sam & his band to Sweden in '68. There she joined the Australian Yarra Yarra Jazz Band then touring in Europe. Kay married Frank Stewart the Yarra's bassist and moved to Australia with the band on their return home. Kay's uniquely vocal style and repertoire give the Pelicans a whole added dimension.

Sandro Donati: Trumpet & Vocals: Highly regarded for his versatility on the jazz scene, Sandro lends a unique & individual style of interpretation to the broad variety of material presented by the band. He has appeared at numerous Australian festivals and led his bands on several European tours. His bands have included The New Harlem Orchestra, The Yellow Dog Jazz Band and his own Sweet Jazz & Blues.

David Allardice: Piano: A wonderfully versatile player, is also able to cross the stylistic boundaries of the several groups with whom he works in Melbourne. David is particularly adept at a variety of Latin American rhythms having studied extensively in Cuba.

John Scurry: Guitar and Banjo: A longtime member of The Red Onion Jazz Band and many subsequent prominent Melbourne jazz ensembles, John provides a buoyant swing to the rhythm and with the benefit of a wealth of experience, solos with great subtlety and maturity of ideas. Also has contributed several original compositions to the Pelicans repertoire.

Frank 'Slaps' Stewart: Double Bass: Has travelled the world with his skills as an internationally respected member of the New Orleans Jazz Fraternity. Initially touring England, Europe & the United States with The Yarra Yarra Jazz Band for several years and then subsequently with many other fine Melbourne bands.

Lynn Wallis: Drums: Drums are the heart and soul of the band - any band, or should be! Lynn evokes and heightens every possible nuance from a slow blues, to a shaking 'Mardi Gras Special' and has been doing so since he first went on the road to Europe along with Frank Stewart in the Yarra Yarra Band in the late sixties. A longtime member of Roger Janes & Tom Baker's Bands out of Sydney, Lynn has recorded with U.S.A. musicians including trombonist Dan Barrett, Pianist Don Ewell and New Orleans trumpet-master Alvin Alcorn. Lynn is without a doubt one of the finest New Orleans styled drummers in the world.

Barry, Lynn, David, Frank and John were in some of their first bands together in Melbourne way back in the Sixties...come up and say hello if you were there. And don't forget to 'SHAKE YO' BOOTY!'

The CD 'BANDROOM' is available on PEL 001. Recorded live in the relaxed ambience and complementary acoustics of Melbourne's Chapel Off Chapel, it contains a wide selection from their extensive New Orleans repertoire.
