How I Made It To The Hamlet 2 Casting Call
Hey Friend.

My name is Ryan. We met outside of the Background casting call for Hamlet II.
I'm enclosing the story of what I had to go through to get to that audition
last saturday.

Regards,

Ryan Pace

Sat Sept 1. 2:00 pm. Audition is from 1 pm to 6 pm out by the airport. I
live in the University area.  I go out and try to start my car. It is dead.
I have no idea why. It was fine yesterday. I pull a battery jumper out of my
trunk and open the box. It is brand new. I've had it two months and never
had to use it. Now, I'm glad I have it. I read the instructions and it says
it has to be charged! Oh shit. I try it anyway, car jump starts. Great. I
drive 2 minutes and the car dies. I have just spent 500 bucks getting
repairs done on the car. It has had an electrical short for over a year that
has the check engine light on. After the car got out of the shop the check
engine light can back on two days later. Geez. So I jump out and rejump the
car. I'm headed to my friends house. He has a bunch of tools and knows about
cars so I'm going thataway. I take the slow roads across town as I don't
want the car to die on me and my friend lives on Academy. I get on my
friends street and his neighbor this old lady is pulling out of her
driveway. I stop to wait, and murphy's law kicks in. The car dies and
literally starts making a buzzing noise that sounds like screaming. I walk
to my friends door, knock, he comes and helps me get the car into the
driveway. I hang out and talk about the issue with him and his roommate. I
hook the jumper up to the socket so it can charge. I'm gonna need it I'm
sure. So I head out and start looking at the car. The issue seems to be an
electric component shorting out and draining the battery. I find the buzzing
is electrical and is coming from a specific component under the dash. I
remove the component, charge the battery by running the car and get ready to
head out. This whole process takes about 2 hours. It also decided to rain
while I was doing it. After getting it together, I think, I head out only to
have the car die on san mateo. I successfully get it jumped again and then
head out toward the airport. It is 4:30 pm I am concerned I won't make the
audition then I realize that it is until 6:00 not 5:00. Great. I manage to
make it to the Holiday Inn Select and go through the audition process. If it
weren't from some really cool other guys, i.e. you guys I wouldn't have been
able to get my car started to get home! I love the movies and the people who
work for them!
