| Our first recipient of this award goes to Lodie Gleason. She is recognized for her ingenuity for inventing "The Lodie" that provided warmth for the background actors last night(Sept. 20th, 2007) on the film Swing Vote. The Lodie is a water bottle filled with hot water from the craft service table. This comes in very handy on those cold nights. Our Second Recipient of this Award goes to Elizabeth Gabel, & the Background Actors of Appaloosa. Elizabeth thought of giving homework to the Background Actors. Basically writing the bio of the their characters on the film Appaloosa. I will be posting these back stories when I recieve them. Kudos to you all. This film took place from October-November 2007. Tom Rostkowski The Appaloosa Town Story Written by the Background Actors of the film and assembled by Elizabeth Gabel Our 3rd Recipient Goes to The Background Actors of Terminator 4 I heard about this is an a round about way since I have not been given the pleasure of working on this film. I heard the seasoned background informed the new background about getting paid for water bumps since some scene they were working on for weeks they were getting soaked. Enough of you guys stood up for this water bump which is standard in California and convinced the local and California team to play ball, So this is a combo award the first half is for the "Die Hard Background" informing the Newbies about what they should get. The 2nd half is for you guys standing together and getting what you deserve. I love hearing stories like this one. You have heard me say if you have worked with me that It takes background to make a story and it takes a group of background to make change. On a personal note this is my new saying "This isn't grandma's house where you can get away from responsibility and doing what is right Just because your away from your parents " Keep up the great work. Our 4th Recipient goes to two individuals that helped the background of Love N Dancing, Legion and a few other films get paid. Those indivuals are Sharmaine Garcia of the New Mexico Film Commission and Natalie Swaby of Channel 7 News . Thank you for your persistance and support on these efforts. Our 5th Recipient goes to the background of the short film 4:20 for showing up above and beyond when we really needed them.
