Name/Nicknames: Trevor "Doc Wolf" Gray
Gender: male
Rank/Position: doctor
Age: 53
Birthplace: Rockport, Texas- Old Earth

Physical Description: Trevor has the kind of looks that get better with age. Facial features that seemed strange as a youth now give him a striking, majestic appearance. His shaggy, salt-and-pepper hair is cut neatly at ear level. His wide, steel gray eyes are the first things one notices about his face. Even now, he is striking rather than handsome, with high cheekbones, a thin mouth, and a Roman nose. His tallish frame had a lean, muscular build in youth that he is careful not to lose as he gets older.

His typical work uniform is an old cotton shirt and jeans that both look as though they've seen better days. When he can be persuaded into dress clothes, he looks good in blues and reds. He also wears an old tan cowboy hat that looks like its been through a stampede or two.

Personality: Trevor's nickname says a lot about him. He's known as "Doc Wolf" or simply "Wolf" to just about everyone, and most people have probably forgotten his real name. When asked how he got the name, he'll just grin and invent a new story for whoever's asking. Some of the most popular tales are of his wilder youth. His personal favorites are of incident involving sheep and one concerning members of the female persuasion. It could be for his air of fierce intensity when he's gotten into a task, or has found a cause to crusade for, or is in the process of chewing someone out for excessive stupidity. But like a wolf, he's also very gentle and loving with children and those he cares about. Trevor is very protective of and loyal to his friends, making his a valuable ally in times of trouble.

Trevor's booming, genial tones can sometimes be heard even before he's in sight. He seems to know everyone's name and always takes the time to ask after their families or jobs or current interests. He's something of a matchmaker and has a good track record for everyone but himself. Trevor works hard at his job, but is otherwise a bit lazy. He'd party all night and sleep all day if he could.

Background: Trevor "Doc Wolf" Gray was born in Rockport, Texas and the veteran of many a storm even after he left home. His family had a profitable cattle ranch that he enjoyed helping out with. But since it would go to older siblings eventually, he left for bigger things after high school graduation. He kept in touch with his family and visited often during college. Trevor emerged with his medical degree and set up a small practice in his hometown after his residency. It wasn't very lucrative, but he got along.

When rumors arose of the Pern expedition, Trevor jumped on them, shamelessly flaunting his medical skills to get a place in the colony. He was always up for an adventure and had no wife or children to have to consider. For a while, the colony was everything he'd hoped or and he wasted no time settling in. He was soon a familiar face around Landing, and, though amiable and willing to work with his fellow doctors, he left no doubt as to who ruled the profession in Landing.

The first Threadfall shook the unflappable Doc Wolf as nothing else ever had. He grimly did his job, rushing and racing to get to those who needed help, but too many lives could not be saved. A distraught Trevor was one of the earliest and loudest advocates of the move north. He'd probably be there now if not for his acquisition of a firelizard egg sometime before the actual move. He came into a deeper understanding and appreciation of his new companion's abilities, and decided to switch camps and put his faith in the dragon project. Besides, Trevor Gray has never learned how to back down from a good fight. He was a little disheartened to learn that he was a 'few years' outside of the acceptable candidate range, however.

Family/Friends: none

Hobbies & Skills: Trevor's greatest joy is telling the stories he's collected over the years, making up new ones, and swapping them with others. He also finds it soothing to do a little leather work in the evenings, practicing skills learned from his mother years ago and those he's developed on his own since then. He's also an avid card player, especially poker, and wins a fair amount of the games that he plays.

If your persona were a song, the title: Ain't going down (Til the sun comes up)- Garth Brooks

Pets: bronze Teddy, after his favorite ancient hero. Teddy seems the slow and steady type, very dependable and level-headed. The only time he goes a bit 'off-his-rocker' is during mating flights, in which he participates whole-heartidly. Otherwise, he can either be found perched on Trevor's shoulder, or curled up asleep in a sunny spot.
