Physical Description: Sinjian is tall and broad shouldered for his age, and looks about 19. In his face, though, you can still see his youth and innocence. Like Zann he has inherited the Native American's reddish-brown skin and sparkling black eyes. His hair is almost shoulder length and shiny black. On the stake he wore practical, well-worn clothing, suitable for farming, but once out of his father's house he may become more concerned about his appearance.

Personality: Sinjian is quiet and studious but with a very definite sense of self. He does not want to grow up a farmer or stakeholder like his father. He wants to stay in New Landing with his brother Zann so that he can get advanced schooling, perhaps becoming a scientist or an engineer.

Background: The senior White Feathers joined the Pern colony eager for the wealth of open spaces and the promise of untouched land. Always a tight-knit tribal family, they became more isolationist once they staked their acres on Pern. Barely more than a toddler when the family left for Pern, Sinjian has very few memories of Old Terra. Pern is the only real home he has ever known. Like Zann, Sinjian grew up within an isolated family without the benefit of friends, although he has several siblings.
